Dog Not Allowed To Be Brought to Parks in SJ/USJ ?

Today around 6pm my friend visited me and brought her small pet dog(fully grown but only 5kilos) to the park nearby at USJ9 with her friends to play. I believed this is the first time my friend brought the pet dog to the park toplay.

There were many people at the field at that time and a man who was sitting 100m away from my friend at the other corner of the field walked to my friend who was playing and taking photo with the dog and KICKED the small pet dog with all his almighty strength - luckily the small pet dog survive the kick and my friend quickly carried the pet dog and the man was very furious and told my friend to bring the pet dog off the field otherwise he is going to his car to get something to kill the dog....what kind of man is this? As far as my friend can understand, this is a public field, why can't a dog be allowed to be brought along to play?

My friend did not know that there was a sign board put up at the park that shown DOG was not allowed to be at the park. This raging man was furious for people bringing the dog to the field.

I can understand why the park was designated NO DOG access as there must have been many cases of the uncivic minded dog owners taking the dogs for a walk in the park and "pooh" there of which definately is very offending to all the park users.

I have no problem with the park being designated as no dog access area BUT the act of kicking the small pet dog without alerting or prewarning the owner of the dog by showing him/her the no dog sign at the park is just like taking the law into his own hand..(I guess if my friend brought a big dog, then it will probably be a different scenerio...)

Why can't we live in a world with a little bit more tolerance to each other....Talk first before action lah.......Now, hantam dulu baru beritahu....Nothing much I can say lah...Of course if my friend is a REPEAT OFFENDER by bringing the dog to the field....then please shoot at sight lah!!!!

Err buddies...real soon...Orchi shall want to see the same town council act be applied n enforced along the roadsides in front of houses on all residential roads...where owners should NOT allow their pets to reach whilst under a leash...or otherwise.

Unlicensed strays are to be rounded up n captured on sight...

Nevertheless...what the neighbour did in this incident can be considered as cruel n uncalled for...

That said...it could be possible that he might have had it up to his nostrils for putting up with the nonsensical n irresponsible behavior of pet owners...

Can't imagine what would have happened...if the offending party(s) got violent into a fight...or someone gotten beat up badly in the heat of the moment...

What the guy did is cruel, and you can report to RSPCA, i.e. if you want to take up the issue.

However I have to agree that no dogs be allowed in public fields because they may attack others esp. children and of course may do a 'poop poop' which will be messy.

Of course we need also to take into consideration the sentiments of our Muslim neighbors.

Talking only dog not allow in public park? how about other pet

just wondering, if dogs are not allow in the said public park due to the 'pooh' matter..then how about other pets like cat, rabbit? how the pet owner can ensure their cats or rabbit will not 'pooh' in the park? i think your friend shall report the incident to the nearest balai as the furious guy was threatening your friend that he will get something to kill the dog...

Err buddies...at a time like this...Orchi for one misses to be reminded of the famous quote from Buddy Shali(where art thou buddy?)..."2 wrongs don't make a Right..."

    When it's a dog issue...one should deal with a dog issue...accordingly.

Please do not mix up a dog issue with the other cat issue...

Not mixing the issue here, but a point needs to me made.....

Its not just about the 'pooh'....in fact cat 'pooh' can numb your nostrils for days. Now I'm not sure about rabbit 'pooh' but on the other hand, chicken 'pooh' is another story - tiny but equally damaging. (Many have chickens as pets i'm sure, some might bring them to the park to pick on worms).

The Point Is....dogs have a tendency to turn aggressive when in the company of strange people. They might just decide to chase a little kid around the park, and at times, many masters can't control them (the dogs I mean). Now you can argue that a 5 kg 'toy' dog can't do much harm, but a bite is a bite and it's an injury.

Cats don't 'meow' or chase strangers around the park!

    ps
Sorry guys for the thesis above on 'pooh'

I went on a waterfall trip once and this guy brought his dog along. He and the dog swam in the cascading waterfall. The were a lot of Malays there and that guy was just pure inconsiderate. I'm Chinese and I think his actions were stupid and ignorant. Yes, ignorant. But the Malays there were cool and never said anything.
So, kaang, your friend must get rid of his/her disease - ignorantimus

    bros kuma/orchi,

Dog has tendency to bite and attack strangers, cat might scratch and attack ppl too if being disturbed, why bring a chicken to pick worm in park, damage the field grass, somemore, some agressive rooster will chase & attack kids sometimes. all pets are animal and it 'pooh' naturally everywhere it like, omg, just can't imagine how disgusting when u step on de 'golden mash', this is PARK not pet's playground.

The point is everyone has their own favour pets and irritating of some others. To avoid the uncomfortable and be fair of other park users. The municipal shall has sense of public mutual understanding and act rationally. They should have restricted all PETS are not allowed policy in the park. if only dog is not allow, can i bring along my little charming chameleons to de park? ..will someone chase me with parang becoz my cute chameleons might scare away their kids??

Kaang, i feel so sorry about your friend's incident,

Even USJ is a well developed area, however, still have some uncivilised jokers staying around. Kaang, your friend should at least lodge a report to balai, it's fair enough if that joker request your friend/dog to leave the park, but kicking the puppy and threatened your friend that he will kill the puppy is definately a self conceited violences. just like 'i really hate those illegal/double parking road user, becoz of them, the traffic is badly jam, but can i kick their car and threaten them if they dont remove their car away otherwise i will burn their car???' it's doesnt make sense, right?

Hi everyone. I believe the sign board at all the parks mentioned no pets allowed, not only dogs. Means no cats, rabbits , dogs etc. The kicking of the dog however is too much & cruel.

    TQ

    a little side track here.

I go up to Bukit Gasing in PJ and Kiara Hill often. many times i see owners bringing their dogs on a run with them.

i have phobia for dogs. the trail at Bukit Gasing is already narrow, and especially when you need to share it with the dog and owner, it's not comfortable. some owners put the dog on leash, some let the dog run without the leash. although the dogs i have seen so far are small, thus 'house dogs', honestly, this doesnt warrant that the dog will not bite at all.

once, at Kiara Hill, i have seen this family bringing all their dogs, 3 in total, and letting them run loose. it really scare me.

owners who bring their dogs on hiking trail are inconsiderate, since the trails are so narrow. it makes a lot of trail users uncomfortable.

for parks, owners should bring plastic bags to collect their dogs' poohs.

dogs also have to go out and exercise and walk like humans. but it's the owners who need to be responsible.

Nothing cruel about it. The owner deserves to be kicked also. Read the bloody signboards. Don't claim ignorance as it is no excuse.

In order to satisfy everyone, I suggest we have one park in SJ where dog owners can bring their pet for excercise. Other parks are banned. For that particular park where dogs can be brought for excercise, residents who are against dogs can stay away........

Err buddy Jason...as it is...there isn't enough reserved land for greenlungs n recreational park facilities...for fast rising nos. of dwellers in SJ/USJ...

Like their human counterparts... pets such as dogs cats n hamsters need to exercise constantly or they would be overweight...not as healthy according to the vets...

That's why the humans invented high tech advance space-saving treadmills n ingenious treadwheels...
