    Washing Machine

I am planning to get a new washing machine ... can anyone tell me what is the difference between top loading washing machine and front loading washing machine?

Basically.. they perform the same function.. but I can see that front loading washing machine is much dearer than any of the top loading washing machine... wonder why?

Front loading is much gentler on your clothes compared to top loading. However front loading takes longer time to wash and uses more electricity and water.

side loading actually uses less water and electricity.

you can also wash more clothes compared to top loading as side loading machine do not have the agitator.

My Mom opted for top loading as she need not bend down to load and unload...she has a bad back.

That's it? That's the only difference between side loading and top loading washing machine? Just to save water and electricity?

You can still throw in another underwear into a top loader after starting a wash cycle.....

Well like i mentioned, the front laoder is gentler on clothes than top loader. I find that my clothes tear/stretch more easily compared to using a front loader washing machine.

    The choice is Front Load

yup.... the choice is still front loading washing machine. Front load tends to wash gentler than top load. One of the reason not against the gavity because it turns up and down not down and down.

The big reason is also the price . Has it ever make you wonder why the big different in price, 7kg top RM 780.00 and 6kg front RM2000+.

If you have the dough, you might as well go for front load which can normally last you some time before the first repair. Whereas top tends to break down easier. No specified answer for that.

    Check out here.

Gentle washing, not against gravity, less 1kg but pay RM1220++ more?!!
How come you says "The big reason is also the price"?
How does the price make "The choice is Front Load"?
    This is very confusing.
Worse your link is to a shop site and not an explanation site.

What Wan Wan said is correct.. unless u r operating dobby shop otherwise, not worth to spend additional thousand just for water and electricity saving. With all those extended warranties nowadays...all breakdowns will be covered.
