    Just saw on Bernama TV on Astro 502.... the petrol is reduced 22sen effective tmr, Sat 23rd Aug.... as for diesel not sure leh.... I think the newscaster said 8 sen

    RON97 petrol be reduced by 15 sen to RM2.55 a litre from RM2.70,
    RON92 would cost 22 sen less at RM2.40 a litre from RM2.62,
    Diesel would drop by eight sen to RM2.50 a litre.
    Still! Bleh.......

    haih....suckered into paying for so much petrol $$$ when the world price of oil has dropped so much ...wonder whether petrol claims in my company will be reduced or not..hmm, better make my claims fast..

    I think it will be political suicide to cancel the rebates - perhaps it explains why they can't bring the pump price down further ... because they need to factor in the promised repayments

    Below are the reductions:-

    RON97 grade down by 15 sen from RM2.70 to RM2.55 per litre

    RON92 petrol down by 22 sen from RM2.62 to RM2.40 a litre.

    For diesel, will go down by 8 sen, from RM2.58 to RM2.50.

    Even if the price of petrol drop, do you think there will be a vertigo effect on reduction of prices of other goods and services? Take for example, price of food increased, transportation price increased and etc during the hike. An opportunist vendor with a good sense of maths will not seize the opportunity to act on reducing their prices. Even if the price of petrol are reduce, are there any mechanism in place to ensure that the opportunist vendor reduce their prices? My feel, ....... Bottom line, damage done.

    Petrol ceiling price to remain at RM2.70 until year-end, says Shahrir
    KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 21 The ceiling price of petrol will remain at RM2.70 a litre until year-end, Domestic Trade and Consulmer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad said today.

    He said the ceiling price would be reviewed after Dec 31 depending on the current global fuel price at year-end.
