I salute LCW for going so far and really hope he will bring back Malaysia glory. But the final is over even before it heat up. LCW lost disgracefully without even put up a fight. It was a pathetic show by LCW. He should have seen his stroke and defence play not doing good against LD; and should be flexible enough to adapt. And, Misbun is like a bit lost and stun do know what advise to give. LD is from a different class and control the whole game. It's like watching an pro playing with a amature LCW. LCW will have to wait for anoher 4 years, but with his age, LCW will probably never be Olympic gold medalist. Bravo to LD for playing so excellently under the such great pressure on his shoulders!!

Thank you richard lim for your facts. I have checked with WBF and the details as follows;-

Badminton was first introduced to Olympics in Barcelona, Spain in 1992
Jalani and Razif sidek won a bronze.

In Alanta 1996, Chia Soon Kit and Kim Hock won our first Silver Medal,.
While Rashid Sidek won a bronze.

Now in Beiging 2008, Lee Chong Wei won a Silver.

So this is not the first time a Malaysian Flag is flown in the Olympics.

At a time when some of our politicians are spewing racist and intolerant religious views, watching our badminton hero keep the national flag flying is so refreshing and motivating....

Orchi, as one who cintai Malaysia, it is a bit unbearable to see Malaysia thrashed in the final. It is ok if LCW did not get gold but put up a good fight. Talking about pressure, I believe LD pressure is surely much greater. Of course, after playing the game for 5 minutes, I believe LD pressure is nearly all gone seeing LCW performing like that.

Not too long ago, I was glad to hear Ng Boon Bee who for decades been forgotten of his achievements finally been awarded Datukship. He truly deserves it.

    Bravo indeed...!

Orchi says he deserves a Datukship of the highest order...
Err buddies...to entice more younger Malaysians to excel in sports...to greater heights...RM3,000/monthly pension is way too little of an effort by our gomen in appreciation for achievements in Sports...

Most of the times...these sportsmen n women have to endure agony n pain due to prolonged injuries sustained during their active sport training n participation years...

n many a time...these folks sacrifice much of their personal time...education n career advancement opportunities for the passions n goals of the sporting excellence.

Take for an example in boxing...many of the participating sportsmen/women suffer severe aftermath of head n body injuries...which would likely plagued the players in many years to come until their ripe old ages.

When we can claim to have the ability to built the tallest towers in the world n travel into space...we ought to jaga our muka while maintaining our "Malaysia Boleh Standards"...lah.
