Carrefour rip off by cashier

Went to midvally to get some items today, requested assistance as I was in wheelchair. Assistance was Bangladeshi. Paid items by credit card. Bangladeshi put my barang in my basket. Came home rested, had shower then checked thing I bought – wow I was billed for 2 shampoo -$17/ per bottle. One bottle I’ve other missing & another item which was’t in my list, also missing. $20/ ripped off.
Nope never dropped any items as I asked some people to double check if my things were secured behind my chair.
Be careful u guys. don't kow who the bad guy, could be the cashier!
Any idea?

Dear Carol,

This is terrible. I suggest that you write in officially and complain about the missing items.

Even if they cannot find the culprit, at least you must shame them for taking advantage of you. Let the management knows there are crooks in the team of workers.

I feel very angry on your behalf.

hi Carol, sorry to hear about that... maybe you could try my way... after paying, i will go through the items that i bought whether its tally with the amount i paid. at times, i will try to remember or even jot down the prices at the rack. at times, it will defer.

we cannot blame anyone as we do not know who is the culprit in this.

And just an advice, dont bold the word 'Bangladeshi'. From my understanding, seems that you are either do not like them or blaming them for stealing it... pls accept my apology first as that is my impression of your post.

No point in writing, the people in Carrefour will never reply. My wife's car got scratched in Carrefour SJ for no apparent reason 2 weeks ago complete with a orange cone placed on the bonnet. I think everyone should have a cool head on this. I am a regular Carrefour customer and not everything is bad. I had at one time left my laptop bag in a trolley area in the LG car park and only realized it when I reached home. When I got back at the car park, I went to the trolley area and a guard asked me what I was looking for. After describing what I lost, he brought me to the Security department to meet his manager, and I had to list down the items in the bag. And to verify my ownership, I showed them how to access the laptop with my HDD encryption password (of course its changed now). They let me have the items back after going thru the items in the bag, ie my ID tag, etc etc. And I had to sign a form with my IC number and photostat for file. So not everyone in Carrefour or any other place is bad. Just a bad apple here and there.

As far as i am concerned Carrefour is a very reputable hypermarket and i do all my shopping here without any hassale or problems. Prices are reasonable and the service excellent. Do feel sorry for the cashiers as they have to cater for big crowds at most times.

I make it a practice to step aside and check the itemised receipt everytime after paying esp at hypermart because normally the shopping list is quite long. Frankly speaking, i have encountered misbilled many times at few different hypermart, it doesnt only happened at carrefour. Tapi, funny lah,everytime it is overbilled not even once underbilled??

What a coincidence. I was was planning to start a new thread today and I saw this, so I'll add this bit.

I'm writing this with the 'hope' that some C4 staff will read this and take action, and USJ forum members support this. Looks like there's no point writing to them as someone mentions that they won't reply.

Sorry for the caps, but if one had to carry 4 barrels of water plus other stuff up a steep NOT WORKING escalator, I suppose I'd shout louder. This has been going on for years. Previously, they were apologetic and had staff to help or direct you to the lift. Today, nobody was there and lift was dead as well. Looks like they have cut back on staff as everyone was missing.

This has happened to me a few times. Once a foreigner offer to help pull my fully laden trolley while I pushed. Boy was it an experience. Half way through the guy was probably having regrets.

These days they are turning down the Aircon, so it's hot inside as well.

I've been a regular patron for years, but now I think I'll move on. Not that their prices are cheap anymore. Sure at times they have offers, but when you consider the hospital bills you might have for the heart attack you might get.....?

Any lawyers here? Can sue if someone gets a heart attack because they didn't provide the service? But then again in M'sian Courts...forget it! I'll just shop elsewhere. What to do.....I'm so typically Malaysian.

Have you been to their toilets? Shortly after their renovation, they have been very dimly lit and most of the toilet cubicles are forever out of order; i.e. at least for the male toilets...

I sincerely hope you are joking. If you are not, then I sincerely hope you can change your attitudes about foreigners, specifically the ones who you mentioned.

By the way, I notice the SJ area has a lot of Canadians around now. Some of them have been seen around Carrefour.

all super/hypermarts employ up to 60% foreign labour...If we were to employ 99.999% Malaysian (other .001% being managerial looking foreigners) then we will be looking at paying 100% more for every single thing we buy from these outlets! we wont even touch on the mamak, chinapek, tomyam celup restoran staff...With the exception of selected fields, these poor chappies left home '000km away for RM600-1000 per month and live incramped and almost squalid conditions that u will be shocked outta yr skin!

The foreign workers (sweaty labourers, smelly drug/watch/leather belt/dvd pushers, convincing scam artists, dirty cooks, sloppy waiters, pretty masseurs, sadistic footpressor, stiff-lipped MNC managers, charismatic lecturers, sexy singers, parttime hunky gigolo/ bonkalicious workingladies) with or without permit serve a purpose in this bolehland

It's this Carrefour in Mid Valley again...

Went there last week to purchase its house brand 5kg AAA rice (priced at RM16.40) as advertised on the Star.. searched everywhere in the store but couldnt find the 5kg but just the 10kg.

However, because the 10kg was sold at RM48.80 ( it's still cheaper to buy 2 packs of 5kg ie 2 x RM16.40 = RM32.80), I aksed the promoters where to locate the 5kg but was surprised when they told me affirmatively that I would never find it coz the management didnt sell it since the advert was just a tool to attract customers to the store ...

Immediately called to see the store manager who then told me that the 5kg rice was ran our of stock, and asked me to purchase the 10kg at RM48.80 ! i made a scene by telling all customers there that Carrefour cheated us by advertising something which they didnt mean to sell ...told them off & threaten to publicise this and complain to Consumer Bereau ...only then the manager proposed to settle it amicably...at the end i bought the 10kg at RM32.80 i.e. price for 2 packs of 5kg !

ya, what a "reputable" hypermart ...

what this 'reputable' hypermart did was simply to appease an irated customer. They are not obliged to sell that bag of rice... The Invitation to Treat in Tort is a very interesting read.
