Expensive Food at Subang & USJ

Do you have any complaint about expensive price or overcharge of restaurant food / hawker food at subang / USJ area?

Did you try taipan hawker (facing car park) mix rice (night stall) before? How you rate the price?

Be careful at Nasi Kandar Kayu...they will top up 10cents to 50 cents on the nasi kandar suka-suka one. Everytime i went there, i am getting the same dishes but, price up and down suka-hati. When i comment, then they will go down to the right price.

Another one is the NK outlet at Mydin. In fact I find all the food prices there as NOT ECONOMICAL or NOT woth it, based on value and quality which is run of the mill..nothing to shout about!. I've observed the prices have increased by a percentage since after beginning of this year and for no obvious reason.
Again, the NK there (based on a plate with piece of chicken and poppadam = RM7 something, last time I ate there) seems to me, more expensive than Kayu. Thats only with a misierable piece of chicken...add more and your bill goes up sharply. Ka ching!...$$$$$$
Yep!..USJ Subang people all loaded mah!. I beginning to feel that eating NK is becoming a luxury priced meal.

Well, my favorite sunflower seed went up $2.00 per kilo!! It used to be $12.90 and now it is $14.90 per kilo!! What has the sunflower got to do with the petrol price? They do not drink petrol!!

Now, I gotta find something else to munch while watching TV.

plant your own sunflower... easy to grow...

food price has gone up almost everywhere, no just in Subang Jaya. Thanks for sharing all the super expensive places. What happened to price tagging ? especially in restaurants, so we wont get a shock when the bills come. Perhaps the MPSJ must start to check on them, especially those mix-rice and nasi kandar.

I dont think in general ppl are complaining about high cost of food its the no i pleasure of all malaysians. Incidentally I was at mid valley and Jaya Jusco was having a day sale for J card members...you should have seen the massive jam and the massive crowd..and you say ppl have no more to spend, no way!!!! Those things were very expensive too.
Even the resturants in the Mid valley had no sitting places.

Expensive food in SJ is just a myth and a good subject to dicuss only.

Well, if it's produced locally, it needs electricity (which has gone up) and transportation (fuel gone up too)... Then the supermarket oso needs to pay higher electricity bill, so there you go...

Generally I find Taipan food to be reasonable when compared to Sri Petaling so I have no complains so far.

I think you are referring to SIN KONG kopitiam. The economy rice is the most expensive i have ever experience albeit the good taste. Min RM5.00 per plate I suppose and if you choose to have fish then prepare to pay RM9.00 per plate.

I kena once with mixed rice stall infront of taipan carpark as mentioned. Simple mixed rice with one vege, half salted egg and a fried chicken cost me almost 8-9 ringgit. Asking them back on why the price is so expensive, they explaning that they are selling "chew Chow" dishes instead of normal mixed rice. Banned from my list forever.

Last night had a nasi kandar with curry mutton, some cucumber and one boiled egg in Kayu, taipan cost me 8.90 ringgit. Banned from my list forever... They suka suka charge you more and more and more without receipt after pay. I think staffs inside is eat up most of the money.

I had a good plate of NK at Sungei Wang 4th floor food court. Chicken drumstick, 2 vege, mixed curries, poppadam and iced tea. All for Rm6.70 unlike K*y* pricing. USJ Taipan place woh!.. RM10k rental/month!.

The stall will only start selling 7.00pm sharp. Usually you will find long Q but try go there around 8pm you know what I am saying...she is losing customer due to pricing and arrogance. At least 50% left over.
