Sunway Pyramid, not friendly to babies

    Hi,
I am quite dissapointed with the newly extended Sunway Pyramid. It is not friendly at all to pregnant ladies, strollers and babies.

I did parked my car at level CP3 and because I am carry two babies with 2 strollers, I decided to use the lift and the crowd is just not caring enough to let me through. I have to wait for the lift for at least 30 minutes. Those whom are single still choose to use the lift eventhough it is packed and when they see both babies are crying, the still do not let me use the lift. Pretty crowded and people are jamming up the lift. Come on, let the pregnant ladies, babies use the lift. Those whom can, kindly consider to use the elevator, walk.

There is no place to feed babies as well in such as big shopping mall. What a dissapointment.
When I was pushing the strollers to the car, the curb keeps on blocking the strollers. I have to lift up the babies and strollers to cross to the car. This is too dangerous.

To those who relentlessly not letting the strollers and babies use the lift, kindly think how should we proceed?
I may not visit Sunway anymore, kindly look at Subang parade and IKEA as example.

in older days, pregnant ladies and baby sitters normal stay at home or just walk around the park in front of their house.

nowadays, they want to go shopping, party and etc.

I hope Malaysian folks..particularly some men, do pay a little respect for pregnant ladies, and ladies with young kids. I have experienced many rude men when I was pregnant..won't even let me through the door first, and sometimes when I open the door, they nicely let themselves through first. Remember, you are born by a lady too..

555, are you being sarcastic? fyi..We are not in older days...

The lift issue I'll blame it on the typical inconsiderate and selfish M'sian, I once had to wait for a lift for more than 20 minutes at 1U, since every time the lift arrived it's full, and no one bother to give space for me and my baby stroller.

for feeding areas in shopping malls, I always do my homework first before I went to any shopping mall with my baby, find out where's the nearest babies room. You always can ask at the information counter/concierge

In Sunway Pyramid, for old wing there's one in Parkson, babies section, LL2 I think, same floor with Giant. for new wing, there's one in Jusco, babies section also.

Here's another tip for babies room in any shopping mall, there's always one nearby in the Babies section in any departmental store. If you need to use one, just look for nearest Parkson, Jusco, Metro Jaya, Isetan and head for their babies section, you'll always find one there.

in the march 2008 issue of 'Mother and Baby' there is an article about shopping malls and the baby rooms. it's a pretty good article. only thing is that they don't inform about the time when the rooms are open. i suppose these room are available for use from the malls' opening till closing time. except for subang parade's mother's room which opens 11am til 7pm, and is shut on weekends and public holidays. why? what's the point? plus they do not allow FATHERS into the room. where are the fathers going to change and bottle feed the young ones????

...and yes 555... are you being sarcastic??

Actually, I think that malls are trying their best...I also think that kids should be with their family on more conducive outings...malls just ain't it....it makes father angry, mother angry and kids angry at times.....I even saw one family before bringing their kid to eat in a cold restaurant with the kid having a fever patch on his head!

Those that only give negativity, just ignore

Yes, just ignore those being sarcastic and negative but I am afraid they are too many of those. Just leave it.
One negative person will bring the whole team down.

I did my homework before I visit any shopping complexes.
If I am alone, I usually park my car further to exercise more.

    tryagain, I empathize with you.
They should be looking into the convenience of mothers and their babies as being part of society. I have 3 kids and sometimes my wife and I are also inconvenienced around shopping complex lifts. Its the general Kiasu mentality I think.

after pregnant women and baby sitters , there will be wheelchair handicaps, blind people, deaf people, what do u expect a shopping mall can do ?

how about restaurants, kopi shops, mamak stalls , wet market, pasar malam ? do they need to build something friendly for the pregnant women , baby sitters , wheelchair handicaps, blind people, deaf people and etc ?

this kiasu mentality is really bad. Have you noticed how people stand right in front of the lift even before it opens and blocking those from inside getting out. and if you say something, they either stare or want to go for fist fight cos they think they are right. and not showing courtesy to pregnant ladies and mums with kids, is just ignorance and bad upbringing!!! and this happened in a so call middle income neighbourhood and high end shopping mall. Just to show that income and courtesy doesn't go hand in hand.

tryagain - that said not all malaysians are like those that you met in Sunway Pyramid. some do have the courtesy and do help mums etc. Unfortunately as we become more educated, there are more rude and careless people around. BTW you should write to S.Pyramid and give them your feedback on them being not baby friendly.

Asian Malls and Shoping Complex are mostly Targeting Younger Generation of shoppers! Look at some layout in certain Floors and u see! Plently of Fast foods too for them!

No railing for Ladies whom are pregnant! U seldom see security guards around! Guards are not properly trained! Ask them help and directions(security guards) and usually even the dont know which floor he/she is station at!!! Peanut salary so monkeys mentality( Guards should read and study the malls Blue print of the entire layout plan of the malls they work)

The Gov has banned these Large malls operations hours 10am-11pm Max and should let them open till 24 hours 2 times a week (hence its not always pack with shopers)

if it was meant to be funny, it was not. In older days, there was no internet, people kept their comments to kedai kopi or just keep quiet. maybe you should try some of your own advice, follow olden days lo. No need to post on forum ma.
