How to get to Batu Caves for Thaipusam celebration?

I am planning to join the Thaipusam celebration at Batu Caves tomorrow and to capture soem photos of the celebration. Anyone has any idea what's the best way to get there? Where to park if I were to drive? What is the best time to be there?

Someone suggested taking LRT/Komuter. But I have not tried going there before. How should I go about doing it? Would anyone know?

Appreciate input from anyone who has gone to Batu Caves for Thaipusam.

    Thanks.

i went a few years ago at 2am on wee hours of Thaipusam morning.
it was packed, and the activity had already started which makes sense cos the chariot had already arrived.
    it's also cooler.
    and very well lit.
    we parked along the road.

tv smith has photos up on his site

Yeah, an Indian friend told me that, too.

apparently the temple management called the police in to whack the hindraf protesters and just stood by and watched... something in that line...

Read the mainstream blogs about what happened to HINDRAF supporters at Batu Caves during the last HINDRAF demosntration and you will know.

I dont understand why some Hindus need to turn this religious important event of their lives to a political one, btw Batu Caves scenerio at the moment is the same like any other year.

Happy Thaipusum to all Hindu forumers.

the special train from Sentul to Batu Caves is still running this year...plus more KTM Komuter service

next year you will be able to get to Batu Caves faster, thanks to the double tracking of the line...

Most tv stations are giving extensive coverage of this religious event and the crowd participating are massive and overwhelming.

i'm beginning to wonder if it is really samy vellu's maths that screwed us up big time in toll negotiations...

he claimed 21000 people turned up and packed a hall with capacity of 3000.

now, he claims there were 1 million people at batu caves yesterday when only tens of thousands of people turned up....

The thread : "How to get to Batu Caves for Thaipusam celebration" got hijacked and ended up to Hindraf's home, ha-ha-ha .....

    Anyway .....
Lower Thaipusam turnout leads to wasted food
