You may very well be looking at one of 100 closed circuit television (CCTV) installed by the Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ).

But if you are up to no good, get out of Subang Jaya if you do not want to be caught on one of the municipality's CCTV surveillance cameras.

The cameras, some of which are capable of turning 360 degrees are live and functioning, recording round-the-clock the happenings around.

Is SJ Echo being updated more regularly now? If so that is great for you and for us.

Just curious though...how will you choose which stories go into the print edition?

I wouldn't say there are many events SJ Echo is told about...it's just some events which come to my attention. Take for example this story...all the national media were there coz of the VVIPs present...so why hold the story?
Got lots more exclusive stories for the print edition which i look for myself...so don't worry..the print version won't all be a repetition of what's online.
Personally, it is best not to attend too many official functions to look for a good story...stories are aplenty out in our community...its a matter of sniffing it out...
Besides...not everyone is internet savvy...there are many out there who like the feel of holding a newspaper and reading it while having their cuppa...

wow! really great.... i'm sure crime rate will definitely reduced. Is CCTV also installed around housing area or only commercial area ?

is there any publicity on the CCTV. Perhaps, we can inform those culprit that dont pray pray in USJ/SJ ... you are being watched.

Don't be distracted by the whole exercise! The crux of the matter is that is the MPSJ really concerned about our safety? Is it using public funds (from our assessment or cukai pintu payments) to purchase them? How are the purchases made? Was there an open tender or were the CCTVs bought from a particular company? Who is profiting from the whole deal? Questions! Questions and no answers!

my friend... i am very happy with the whole execise actually... why..

1) I still pay tax. If they dont install CCTV do i get a discount in paying tax ?? dont care lar... at least i see some development is USJ/SJ to curb the increasing of crime rate.

2) I want to membantah but i have no idea on how improve the crime within the community. I could not help. So i let the expert take care of it. I just see, support and perhaps provide my suggesstion on how to further improve the system

3) If we delay and delay... membantah and membantah .... they fund $$$ will go else where lar... .. probably will go to election campaign.. worst place to spend $$$

Whatever it is USJ/SJ & residents MUST move forward. The faster the better. We must be better than yesterday. That's the objective.

I wonder if the police are brave enough to let SJAlert do the statistics report again as this was supposed to help...was installed a long time already and still got:

a. Jams
b. Not following construction rules near KTM and at ex gazebo
c. Some midnight racing
d. Some dirty areas in Taipan
e. The reason why the locations not made puvlic. We paid waht...so we must know lor...also...I agree experts run it but if police are in MPSJ...too...so not enough police roaming around lah...monitor saja...

sadly - if only the ALL the relevant authorities could think - they would also feed the ALL cctv footage and traffic surveillance unto the INTERNET

- and let the public monitor the traffic conditions too, before driving into a gridlock.

- show / shame those errant drivers... I bet you, even the VIPs oso wouldn't dare break the rules because everyone would see them breaking rules on the Net.

- allow the public to be the EYES on ALL the cameras and CCTV if someone on duty 'happen' to miss a crime...

the feed shud be streaming - traffic would be one way [ shud be good ] UNLESS... the cctv and the surveillance/DVR equipment that they are using is CRAP !

come to think of it - IF the fellas was smart enough , they could get ADVERTISERS to pay for INTERNET ADVERTS or BANNERS... and generate revenue to maintain the mpsj's cctv websites...

Yunno, when I suggested this - I never realised the ONLY reason why the tolled highway [robbers ] have NOT implemented this idea - is because then, stupid and ignorant drivers (the likes of you and me !) would avoid using their TOLLED highways when we KNOW that "their" highways are heavily congested...

Today at 10.00 am - it took me 35 minutes to freaking go from the IOI mall to SUNWAY... a distance of LESS than 6 kms! And I had NO CHOICE or ALTERNATIVE exits but to pay TOLL and then getting stuck in a jammed-pack highway... if this is not highway robbery, I don't know what is !!! Come to think of it, with the amount of traffic the SUNWAY toll gets - how the hell can LDP/Litrak say they are NOT making money!!!

And to think that the heavy morning traffic on the LDP would have cleared by 10.00am...
