Rude taxi driver - HWC 4100

    Dear all,

Please try to avoid this taxi - HWC 4100, the taxi driver is very rude to customer. Also, if you know any other rude/unpolite taxi driver, tell us their taxi plate number so that we can avoid that too.

No point complaining here only. Please file a report on this incident with the authority concern and volunteer to testify against him as well. This is the only way to get rid of one rude taxi driver off the road if he realises his foolishness and turn over into a courteous one because of you.

Early this year I jumped into a cab at Armada Hotel and told that fortysomething Indian taxi driver that I was heading for USJ. Time then was 5.20pm. He buat tak tahu and drove on. Upon reaching the Federal Highway I politely told him that he has forgotten to turn on the meter and he said, "Oh no boss. We don't use meter during peak period to go to USJ. We charge flat rate." So I asked him how much was he charging me and he said "RM 20.00." I pun buat tak tahu and was busy calling 1-800-88-9600. He then asked me whether I agreed and that was when I told him that I was calling CLVB to complain about him. He slammed the brake and I was ready to jump out of the taxi but what he did next took me by surprise. He apologised to me and turned on his meter and continued on with the journey. Upon reaching my house (well, I actually got down 20 houses before mine as a safety precaution) the meter showed RM 8.90 or something like that. I couldn't remember the exact reading. I dished out RM 10.00 to him and when he wanted to give me back my change, I told him to keep the change. He thanked me and as he drove off, he sounded his horn and I couldn't figure out whether the horn was saying the same thing or F..ing me. Anyway, always assess the situation before trying what I had just done. But if you are going to Dengkil at 2am in the morning, don't try this lah.

    Hi PC Yeoh,

this number 1-800-88-9600 is for complain to taxi driver? What should we do when we lodge a complaint? Just tell them the taxi plate number? If say they refuse to take us to some destination (traffic jam location, such as USJ), can we lodge a complaint too?

Yes. Call that number. But first equip yourself with the Taxi Registration number and also the CLVB Registration number as the same taxi can be leased out to two parties in a day. We want the guilty one nailed. Also very important is the time, date place and nature of the incident. If many reports are received on the same person, then the authority will realise that this taxi driver is indeed a problematic one. Don't bother whether your report is going to be useful or not. Just like crime report, many feel that since the police cannot do much, they chose not to report the incidents and when the police said that the crime rate here is low, these same very people will start to shout and scream that it was nonsense. Who is to be blamed?

If that is the number painted on all the public service vehicles, I think it has been deactivated. Apparently there were so many calls that they could not handle it so that is their solution. This happened when the CVLB shifted to Putrajaya.
