Nursery for 4 years old

Hi, I am looking for a nursery for my daughter turning 4, I wish to put her in the school that focus on building her on her overall development as a person and not just on academic, EQ as well as IQ. Went thru a few schools, find them to emphasis on academics and also not quite align with what I am looking for. Distance is not my concern, the schoold environement and teachers are more important. Any good schools to recommend? Thank you.

Like you, my main criteria is for wholesome fun. Heck - they will have more than enough academics when the enter school proper.

What seems interesting is Summer Academy in SS18. Their key selling point is the Fastrack Kids program which supposedly enriches learning through reasoning and demonstrations. They are however, relatively pricey.

Another one worth considering is Ladybug at SS17. They claim that all activities are fun such as Sand Play, Water Play, etc. The price is the most reasonable of the lot.

If you want to consider the Montessori method, there is Rainbow at SS18. Run by Ellen, the focus is not on academics but on child development. Prices are also a bit stiff but not as bad as Summer.

In SS19, there are many but to cross to SS19 and to get out again...well, it is a nightmare for those that have limited time to drop off and pick up during all the rush hours.

Do share if you come across others which may be interesting to consider. My pick is either Rainbow or Ladybug.

Any luck with the preschool search? I am at SS12 and was not very lucky to find any at SS12 or SS15. Working mum... so i have to find one that is reasonablly good ( for me that is they are responsible; my son comes home daily safely and have some fun)and traffic convenient.

I found Rainbow not a pure montessori school. A pure montessori school does not have tables and chairs in a classroom type seating plan but rainbow does. My kids went to a pure montessori school in shah alam, and it was all learning through play. no books, no homework and no extra classes. rainbow is much more academic focused, because i think its clientele is mainly for kids going to lick hung or sri kl.

there's another montessori school in ss 19 called small wonder. i haven't been there, but heard it is quite good. i'm not sure if it is pure montessori though.

I found one called Tadika Nemo Bestari at SS14. Any one heard of it? Looks interesting with a pool, sand play , pondok house in the garden . Claims to not only focus on academic. Claims its been around for 3 years.

Where hv you sent your kids to? Please share.

My five year old goes to Tadika Nemo and loves every minute there.
Good friendly environment for a change unlike some very serious oriented ones. Let them have fun while young.

It's been a couple of years since I last updated on this thread but thought it would be good should anyone need the information.

I wound up sending my son to Ladybird for 2 years and really like the way it is systematically organized...maybe all the teachers have been there an eternity and are well experienced and organized.

This year, I enrolled my son in Summer Academy. The good - it has daycare and a very spacious environment. The not so good - procedural and administration is weak, teachers are relatively young (not necessary not good), and it is about 2x the cost of Ladybird.

It seems that many parents have the habit of parking their cars haphazardly and blocking the entry and drop off point of the kindergarten. This problem is compounded by the lack of organized traffic supervision and procedural enforcement. In Ladybird, parents formed a single line (in their cars-one way) and lined up to pick up their kids.

Does this problem occur in other kindergardens such as CEC and Beaconhouse?

It is an issue that I have taken to them and do hope that they will improve upon it.

I ws told that Tadika Precious Lambs in USJ4/1H (?) is pretty good - so you may want to consider.
