For the Fujifilm FinePix f40fd, is the picture stabilization good?

Yes, it does come with image stabilization. However, I would recommend you to conside Fuji F50fd as it has dual image stabilizer.

    1. the night view is taken in the suburb of SF called Santana Row, very Bangsar like with high end food and shopping outlet. beautiful place.

    2. this is taken from Fisherman Wharf to show the gradien of SF, you can see the tram tracks which goes up and down the hills in SF.

    3. sight of Alcatraz from Fisherman Wharf, very nice and pleasant day.

the camera works well, easy to handle and does not give me any hassle at all.
    love it.

Thanks for showing the pictures. You are using the Ixus 860IS right?

The night view is not too bad for a compact, considering the on coming cars' headlights. By any chance the second shot take on the wide angle mode?

Nice place SF, Looks like not so polluted as LA.

PC Fair is just around the corner, I see if I can get a bargain for Ixus 860IS.
This is my benchmark for RM1,400
    1. Ixus 860IS Camera with case
    2. 1 + 2 year extended warranty by Canon.
    3. 1 tripod, 4 or 5 feet ones
    4. screen protector
    5. At least 2GB memory card.
    6. Any other useful freebies they want to give.

Not enough budget for the Fuji F50fd.
    Haha.

Is the image stabilization for Fuji F40fd enough?

Just pull your legs only ..... camera is only a tool ... for a person with lots of creative skills, he/she can even shoot a picture using normal camera phone and yet turn out to be superb shot too! You can have the best camera in the world but if you don't know how to use... still you will not get a superb shot!.. Just my 2 cents.

Shoot more and share more here.... cheers!

gtl, how's the battery life on your Canon? I'm also eyeing this camera and wondering whether it's a good idea to get a spare battery.
