    if i may point out..your clues for the lifejacket are wrong.. firstly a light jacket also called life vest is not light in weight..it will float if inflated.

    Err buddy Coleslaw...you are quite right...there are inflatable life jackets...like the ones used in airplanes...n there are so called foamed life jackets...which don't need to be inflated... which are normally used for boat rides...n they are NOT leak proof.

    The inflatable ones are safest by far...because you can self inflate it...n it would keep you buoyant for long time on water.

    The foam types are cheaper...it would give temporary buoyancy to the wearer...
