Thumbs down PLC Must Declare Racial Composition.

Recent 2008 Budget annouced by the PM contained the government demand that all PLCs in this country declare their employees racial composition. As the result, KLCI has a 2 day drop in a row after the budget annoucement!

Why the PM has annouced this regulation is toatlly bizare. But many can testify that it is done to pacify the ultramen within the political party. To many corporates people and the foreign investors, this is sign of the PM waning power base. He is losing the grip and influence on the ultramen.

Even the CIMB chairman, a brother of the no 2 man in this land, describes this latest move by the UMNO govenrment as sending "a wrong signal" although it "may be" well intended.

In the 1st place, why should PLCs make such race-based disclosure as biziness, to ensure continual survicval, should be managed entirely by professionals, not by race.

What if the PLC losses millions if the govenrment insist on the 30% quota? Loses it competativeness? Definately no one can run a PLC like a GLC...

good... let's start with the GLCs..

more worrying is, will the govt release the results or will they amend the results as they deem fit?

... sigh ! cant think of any theory or justification for that requirement to disclose racial composition of employees. For goodness sake the country is already 50 years old, the policy is still so childish ! make my heart sick to write this, i better listen to negaruku ku so that i can vent out my frustration !

The racial disclosure ruling is testimony that this bolehland is still far away from the dream our Merdeka father once had for us!

Political parties are communal, race-based and even bigotary in outlook. How can we face the globalised world of today?

My observation is that we are behaving more and more like the last Otoman Empire. The entire country is in the hands of the elites, their cronies and relatives rule the country, their children posses majority of the country's wealth.

Pak Lah, being a learnt Islamic scholar, surely is aware of this rotting system!

He is the reason for this rot. He was the one who read the Budget 2008 in parliament last Friday, wasn't he?

It will be a lot of good for our polikus, who claim this bolehland a Muslim country, to learn a little bit about how cronism, corruption and religious extremism has caused the collapse of the last Otoman Empire. They have the brain to read, I hope!

From the end of the dark ages, to the emergence of the Otoman up until the early 1900s when the last of the Osman sultan lost everything to the Western power. y? do we care to know y? May the learnt ones enlighten us in this forum.

Are we seeing the same here in this Bolehland? Let us pray that this is not happening, yet!
