Anyone have sent their kids to any of the private school in USJ like Sri kl, Sri Sedaya and APIIT smart school? Care to share your experience?

Any experience, the good the bad or anthing to look out for? U know? have any of u sent your kids to these private school? is it value for money? How are the teachers? etc .....

My daughters went to Sri KL Primary School. As with any other schools you have the good, the bad and the ugly teachers. The good being more than the bad or ugly! At least, I did not need to send my gals for further tuition as what was taught there was comprehensive with equal enphasis on studies as well as extra-curricular activities. IT and Mandarin is compulsory for all. I had no complaints. It all depends on your child. One of mine did extremely well while the other was average. This should not reflect on the school but on your own child whether they want to study or not.

At one time we used to joke that the majority of the teachers came from the old folks home. These older teachers are good educators,though.

Yeah, i believe so. cause in my days my teachers was excellent educator. They are all in old folks home now i think..??
So mind sharing why u chose sri KL instead of the others?

We were looking for a school where the teachers could explain the lessons in English because at that time when we came back from overseas, my gals had nil knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia...Sri KL also taught Math and Science in English and followed some Singapore syllabus. The extra bonus was IT lessons and longer school hours and morning break and lunch was provided by the school.

The teachers there made it point to help my gals over the initial years, explaining every lesson which was in BM in English so that they could cope.

I did not know about the other schools then and Sri KL was the only available option in Subang Jaya. I read somewhere that Sri Sedaya provides after school tuition (you pay separately for that) till 5 or 6 pm. also.

Twice; between 10 to 15%

How good a school is or school teachers are - vry subjective. There is no perfect sch, you hv to come up with your own checklist (other than the fees), and start gathering info from the schools you are interested in and compare.

Old teachers at SriKL means they hv been teaching there for vry long time, some more than 20yrs. I have obtained SriKL 2008 fee schedule:

Registration non refundable - RM800
Refundable Deposit - Pre-School RM2500, Primary School RM3300
Tuition/School Fees (there are 2 terms in a year)
Pre-Sch - RM3300 per term (there is only 1 PreOne class catering for 5yrs old, and 4 PreTwo classes for 6yrs old)
Std1-2 - RM4550/term
Std3-4 - RM4600/term
Std5-6 - RM4770/term

Some classes for next year are already full / on waiting list.

Fees are inclusive of morning break, lunch, student accident insurance cover, computer, library, music, internet access.

And yes, they hv very long hours, from 8am till 3pm Mon-Thurs, Fri 8am till 1230-1pm

There is an increase of between 18-20% in Y2008 fees compare to Y2007.

I thot of sending my daughter to Sri KL, but considering the jam when sending and picking her back I am looking at possibilities of sending to APIIT.

APIIT is a smart school which has better facilities than Sri KL altho Sri KL would be an ideal choice as I am staying in Putra Heights.

I think my situation would be similar to Umadavid's. My son had studied in Int'l school thruout primary level and when we moved back to Msia, he had no BM background so i put him in SriKL. Good school, lazy son. That's my summary. lol

The principal Mr Chew was really very nice. The classroom has no more than 2 dozen students and the hours are good. Bus service is great.
Fees can almost kill but they do include lunch so i don't hv to worry about that.

One of the issue I had with SriKL is that the teachers are multi-tasked with numerous subjects. Probably jack of all trades but master of none. Apiit, while new, appears to be either poorly built and poorly maintained. And one do not call that small. poorly equipped room a library. Sedaya, is a concrete building, lacking in facilities and is a money generating business, not a school.

Outside Subang perimeters, there is Sri Nobel and Inai, that I know of. Inai, was taken over by Beconhouse 2 years ago, an Indian Education group and is in the process of upgrading the facilities - it will take another few years= from all the years of rot. Nobel, well, the less said the better.

On the other side of the world, if you do not mind the travelling time, there is Cempaka and Sri KDU. Sri KDU is a purpose built school but expensive. Cempaka is heavily academic-inclined. Anyhow, these are just from my perspective, and to each, his/her own.
