    Passport Application

I have returned home to make a new passport. I read that it takes one day only to get a new passport. Is that true? Some say only the Putrajaya office can do it in one day. Does anybody have the address for the Putrajaya immigration office? Thanks heaps.

Wow!! That is fantastic. I will go there then. I hope you did not go super early to get a number or something like that. Thanks for the info. That is great.

    NOT Putrajaya

Immigration office in Putrajaya is NOT the place to renew your passport UNLESS you are a foreign worker. They only deal with foreign worker applications and renewals in Putrajaya. There are no public services for passport renewals.

Sorry...suppose to be terminal 2 building. Anyway, no need to go there super early. I went there around 11.00am. You can collect it 2 hours (excluding lunch break 1 - 2 pm) after you made your payment. However I'm not sure about this coming week as the school holidays had just started.

I went last month to the new office in Taman Sri Rampai in Setapak. Got there about 10am and got the passports before lunch for the whole family. Since it was a new office, not many people. Those who were sitting, were waiting to collect only. Anybody who came and took a number would be immediately called to a counter. Looking at the crowd, I guess if you came at 11am, you would still get the passport before lunch (1pm). Although it took 45 min to travel there, the process was painless and parking is free. Dunno why the local council hasn't started collection for the public car parks yet.

Port Klang there is a place to renew passport.

Yes it takes about 6 hours to renew your passport but this depends on their COMPUTER SYSTEM sometimes bad things can happen e.g. computer down, etc. Then it may take more than 6 hours

Also, you can pay by credit card. ALSO, bad things can happen too, e.g. computer down. Then you have to pay by cash !

Please take note that you can download the Application Form from the immigresion's website! IT's free to download and fill the form but you have to pay if you purchase it at their counter. I think it's RM 1

I am going today to Subang and hope to get it the same day. Have too as I need it for a visa application to another country and then rush back to Thailand by Friday for a meeting. It is going to be tight to complete everything in 4 days.

My passport is less than 2 years old but pages have run out. I heard that they give an additional 6 months for cases like mine. But I am not interested in the additional 6 months. I am interested in additional pages gratis. No point applying for 64 pages as one has to pay for it. It comes down to the same. Has anyone ever got additional pages in place of the months?

By the way, thought you guys might want to download the forms from the Imigresen Malaysia Website website.. or from here.

Please note you need to print the form on both sides of one A4 paper... they won't accept it on two pages...

Alternatively, you can BUY the forms at the counter, which the proceeds will go to their "sports club"....

I just renewed mine at Terminal 2 too. Went in late afternoon and ready next morning.

Please make sure you bring two passport photos and a photostat copy of your IC. You can take your photo there but sometimes got to queue a bit. Sequence:

    1. Go to enquiry and get a Form. Pay RM1 ..I think.
    2. Fill it up and submit everything at Counter 1.
    3. The officer will check the Form, your photo, your old passport and ic. If everything in order, he will give you a number.
    4. Wait for your number to be called. Get thumbprinted and complete your application. Pay RM300 or RM600. Will get a receipt.
    5. Come back later or next day to collect your new passport!

    Hope that helps.
