Waiting 2 hours for Hospital KL ambulance?

At least that's what the report in The Star today says.

Is HKL so short of ambulances?

And the couple in question were turned down by 2 private hospitals when they requested for an ambulance for the woman who was in labour.

I hope the Health Minister will throw the book at the HKL administrators and the chiefs of the 2 private hospitals.

Or shall we expect another round of excuses and finger-pointing?

It is sad that such poor ambulance service still exist. If it is shortage of ambulances, the government should consider cancelling just 1 unit of the recent order of 30 untis of MIG Sukhoi SU30K fighter jets and use the USD$20 million to buy some much-needed ambulances... the balance can buy school text books for our school-children!

Why do we need to buy 30 units of the MIG Sukhois? Do we really need these fighter jets? Oh, to deter "adventurism" by neighboring countries.... But who would want to attack Bolehland anyway? Indonesia? Hey heck, they only have a few very old F5Es.... as old as my Volkswagen Beetle 1972 lah! Their squadron of F15s are not arriving till 2009 and beyond!

Singapore... no matter how many Sukhois we have, those folks down at the Little Red Dots have enough F16s, F15s, Puma and Apache choppers already to whack us....

The Health Minister should face the people, take a deep bow and apologize or better still, cause a by-election !!!

pcyeoh, you are needed here. Please help the KLH by raising funds through the USJ forumer here to raise money to buy a few ambulance to donate to the hospital!!!

By the way,did anybody ever saw, the few kambaras that the usj residence donated to the police, patrolling the usj road lately.

Once I witnessed an accident involving a motorcylist and a car right in front of my house. While I was rendering first aid to the motorcylist who fractured his shin bone, a neighbour call for the ambulance. After 30 mins I called to enquire the whereabouts of the ambulance and I was asked if it's possible to send the victim to the hospital and not wait for the ambulance because it's gonna take a while! Wondered why we called for the ambulance in the first place.
