    SPR - Voting Center

I am a registered voter in KL and have been exercing my right to vote for past 3-4 general elections in KL.

I obtained MyKad 3 years ago with Subang Jaya address hoping that i don't have to travel back to KL on next election.

However, the problem is, everytime i check my voting status on SPR website, it still reflects my voting center is in KL. I was having impression that SPR might have miss updating my change of address status and i took initiative to fill in SPR change of address form in February this year at Giant Post Office as well.

But as per announcement of SPR chaiman all data will be updated by today, i am lost and puzzeled as the online SPR website still reflect my voting center is still in KL?

    1. Updating your address in MYKAD doesn't automatically update your voting address. You have to go to SPR in putrajaya or elsewhere to update the constituency based on your address in MYKAD. It means you have to update your address in TWO places.

    2. Even after updating your constituency address form, they take at LEAST 3 months to update your constituency.
Their excuse is there are 20 million malaysians.

    3. The fastest way is to go to putrajaya SPR headquarters and ask them what is the status. Sometimes, the form can be lost if you register elsewhere like giant (This is malaysia). No point waiting until last minute, then if you find that your form was lost, and it takes them at least 3 months to change constituency, you have to wait another 5 years to vote. (This from my own experience)

Eight FRU Police Personnel on their way to a polling station to ensure smooth voting in today's Ijok by-election, were injured when their four-wheel-drive vehicle skidded and landed in a ditch in Batang Berjuntai this morning.
