Ooopps, The Star committed a typo error and the site is totally opposite of what our USJRA website is all about. It should be www.usjra.com. Thanks KH for having an eagle's eyes.

    Thumbs down

Why do we have an MCA politician as the guest of honour? No doubt he is the ADUN for Subang Jaya but by inviting him, you are making the meeting political as he will surely use this as a platform to champion his achievements and his party. What guarantee do you have that he will not be campaigning in his speech? How can you allow USJRA to be used a platform for his campaigns? While many may agree with him, many also do not!

I am not an opposition or BN or MCA supporter. I will make up my mind at the ballot box but USJRA should not be divisive. If you want to invite a politician, you should also invite the opposition. In the case of Subang Jaya, it was the DAP.

The guest of honour should be a government servant, e.g president of MPSJ or the chief of police, bomba etc.

I totally agree with you that USJRA should not be used as a political tool by our politicians. Tell me which BGM out of the total of 6 we had so far did you hear a politician deliver a campaigning speech at our BGM? Were you there at any of these meetings?? I can guarantee you that the moment our ADUN starts campaigning on our platform this Sunday, I will be the first to throw him out to as far as Icok where he can talk until the cow comes home or out talk the big mouthed Semi Value. What you are assuming and presuming here at this forum is not doing any justice to the RA. We see Dato Lee Hwa Beng as our ADUN first, Councillor second, our RA Patron third and politician last. He can play an effective role in the first and second instance. You do not know that in all our previous attempts, we have invited the President of MPSJ but none of them showed up. I guess they are not daring to face their tax payers head on. So we have to send our emissary in the form of Dato Lee to MPSJ to do work there. That is why we are spending so much time and effort to encourage residents to come this Sunday and use this platform to highlight their problems to MPSJ. Since I have said that USJRA is not interested in playing politics, we shall not talk about the DAP. As for the guest of honour in the form of government servant, e.g chief of police, I just wonder where were you when we had the IGP, the CPO, and the OCPD here recently. We even had the two Dep Minister of Internal Security here in USJ during a short span of 6 months. Tell me which other community can beat this record.

If i can, I will definitely ask about the promised Light for the min-park/playground outside my house...dato lwb's assistant mr Yap (sadly, now xcouncillor) promised a light or 2 to brighten up this playground and discourage potential lurkers...how? can ah?

Please allow me to shed some light on this matter. Your concern of a political coup detat is understandable. However, Dato Lee will be there by virtue of his position as the Patron of the RA and NOT as ADUN. He was the Patron right from day one and was instrumental in helping the RA to move along.

Be assured, the RA is strictly NON POLITICAL. Of course we cannot draw a line to stop residents from discussing issues that may border on political grounds. And vice versa.

This eligibilty question always pops out at all our meet-the -people sessions. The answer is No. As our name denotes, USJ is for people living in USJ 1 - 28. I believe there is a Subang Jaya Residents' Association headed by Lau Beng (not related to Hwa Beng) serving the SJ community. In your case you still have a local standi as you are being served by Hwa Beng as ADUN of Subang Jaya but you can't bring this matter up at our USJRA meeting this Sunday. You will see the light quite immediately if there is a by election in Subang Jaya or if there is a murder in the dark park like what happened in USJ 4 early last year where the Singapore Ah Long was murdered. I am sure you do not want the park light under these two circumstances so the best way is to remind LHB about his promise.

    Shedding some light ...
Residents' Associations as the name imply, means an association set up by the residents of the area concerned (as reflected in the name). So please do not imply that the USJ RA wants to reject SJ residents - because you already have one (which does not benefit residents of USJ).

As for JKP, these committees are set up and supported by the Selangor state government. It translates to Jawatankuasa Penduduk. Subang Jaya is served by JKP Zone 1 while there are three (3) JKPs for USJ where we have 3 zones. The JKP is not related to the RAs, the neighbourhood watches or the Rukun Tetanggas.

Hope that switches on the light in your darkness...

To PC Yeoh now that you have said it, i shall attend on Sunday and I shall record the proceedings. If any campaigning happens, you must therefore keep your promise to kick him out.

With all due respect to Lee Hwa Beng and all the contributions he has made to the RA, I do not share your view that he is a politician last. While I do not claim glory for all the good work that I have done as an employee in my company, our ADUN cannot do the same for something which is part and parcel of his charter.

If previous guest of honours were government servants and VIPs, why USJRA cannot continue these type of invitations? If you really want to know where I was when you had your other meetings, I was trying to earn a living in Bangkok.

Sin Leong, I would personally like to welcome you when I see you there. It is very important that the RA has members by the numbers and also being seen actively championing the just cause of the community and keep the community well informed of things that affects its quality of life. We just had a meeting amongst ourselves just 2 hours ago and we have requested Dato LHB to touch on 4 matters that many are keen to know.

    1. Where and why are the stations of the LRT located in Subang Jaya and USJ and the route that it will take. When will the pile be driven into the ground?

    2. The road and infrastructures in SJ/USJ. People want to know about the current progress and development of the Subang-Kelana Jaya Link toll free highway and its completion date. They are also wondering why there is n news about the controversial flyover over Kesas Highway from Batu Tiga. Also the mysterious bridge called the Tesco Link which will bring traffic from Puchong - what is happening?

I will leave Eilene our secretary to unveil what are the other two matters all about.
