DvD Writer what brand is good?

Hi all,
I am not good in computer, normally what brand of DVD Writer is good? And usually cost how much? Thank you.

I used to own a Lite-On CD-burner and it performed well, so I upgraded to a Lite-on DVD-burner naturally. But I find the build quality not as good and the burning performance not so reliable.

Suggest that you try out a Sony as I heard some good things about it.

I use LG....thick big one... more lasting... the slim type fast to KO,

The LG DVD burner is selling at RM130 in Sunway. I think Lite On DVD burner should be around that price too.... won't be far off.

You can consider Imation DVD burner as well...price is more or less the same with LG DVD. It is well known that Sony DVD burner is very sensitive to disc.. so, think twice if u want to get Sony DVD.

Normal consumer brands like LG, Samsung, BenQ, Lite-on etc. most likely last 1-2 yrs on average use.

For heavy duty user, recommend brands like HP, Yamaha or Plextor. Durable but also expensive compared to the abovementioned.

its a computer shop based in lowyat,the website has a price list of everything,including dvd writers...if lowyat is too far nevermind cna use as price guide...remember not to pay more than rm20 above the price list

Oops , the price should be RM129 for the 20x Lite-on. And the LG speed was 18x.

Ya, prices are dropping. I bought my Lite-on for RM150 some months back.
Saw a new product - a SATA DVD-writer from Panasonic for RM159 instead of the normal IDE types.
