    Frequent Disconnection

Does anyone face with frequent Streamyx auto disconnection nowadays?
Last time, I could stay online 24 / 7. I did not touch any settings. But nowadays, I seem to be auto disconnected and I need to reconnect myself everynow and then.

what I heard from an ex streamyx installer, he told me that Telekom is upgrading their firewall. after the upgrade, all P2P will be disable. now he feddup from the amount of complaint that he receives on the streamyx and now he finally got the licence to install satellite internet service....

It's a relieve to know that I am not the only one facing this problem. but it's SAD to know that we are facing service disruptions. I also don't recall them sending me an email informing of the service disruptions

It's such a pain in the neck cause I am enjoying my surfing and then suddenly, the page cannot be found. So I thought the link must be outdated. I kept surfing and kept getting the same results. Then only I realised that I had been disconnected. It's wasting my time.

one other thing is that I cannot seem to send emails using TM.NET.MY and @streamyx.com !!

Something has gone wrong with Streamyx these days...even loading up Jeff's Screenshots pages is at snail pace. TMNet ain't telling or admitting anything ..that's for sure. As I've said before, NO POINT emailing them or calling their hotline (ain't free either, moreover waste your money) complaining to them.

You email, they give respond with a standard solve-nothing reply to flush dns and blah, blah.. actually given the opportunity, I'd flush the ISP down the loo..

Its getting bad..very bad..and we're suppose to believe they're constantly maintaining or upgrading their services as per timely announcements?.
The end result is still unsatisfactory broadband service from them and they have the gall to do nothing about giving a rebate of monthly charges which they're certainly guilty of not delivering satisfaction to subscribers.

D.S. Lim Keng Yaik..if you're reading this, the least you could do us all justice is give them a good hiding!

If u got streamyx email account, ur pop and smtp setting should be pop.streamyx.com and smtp.streamyx.com. Refer to the technical help section at streamyx website.

Thanks john. I have refered to the information at http://www.tm.net.my/tmnet2006/conte...gID=109&type=1

    and yes for tm.net i entered pop.tm.net.my and smtp.tm.net.my

for streamyx, I would accordingly change to pop.streamyx.com and smtp.streamyx.com

however, as you can see in my attachment, I manage to "communicate" with streamyx!! I can receive emails but I cannot send emails.

Did u tick the box confirming that ur outgoing mail server requires authentication? In Outlook Express, its under the menu Tools Accounts Properties Servers.
