All residents living in USJ 11 are requested to participate in this gotong royong in their own way. There is another serious out break of dengue fever here in USJ 11. I am waiting for confirmation by the Ministry of Health regarding an incident before I make this public. Meantime, USJ 11 has been declared a hot spot as it has a high incidence of dengue fever. This time it is even worst.

The Mentri Besar has directed MPSJ to look seriously into all the dengue hot spot areas in their district and work with the JKPs to organise anti dengue campaign to fight this menace.

This is a cleanup exercise of the whole USJ 11 areas this time. All residents are strongly advised to comb their compounds and get rid of anything that may be a breeding ground for the aedes mosquitoes. For bigger items, you are to leave them outside your house as we have arranged for the Alam Flora Gang to go house to house starting at 8.00 am on Sunday morning to cart them away. In the evening, MPSJ will fog the whole area. They will also be distributing FREE abate upon request. Those who want to help us in the SEARCH and DESTROY mission, please gather in front of Chatters at 8.00 am this Sunday and we shall proceed to areas where breeding grounds which are outside the houses and destroy them. Previous effort to flush out those tins, bottles, plastic containers and food styrofoam under those staircases in the back lane actually brought positive results. The outbreak ended suddenly. I understand SIME UEP has permanently closed up these poorly designed staircases.

We will send out a SMS to all residents registered with SJ Alert to remind them of this gotong royong. When you received such SMS, please forward it to someone who is living in USJ 11. Please also spread this information to your neighbour or a friend living in USJ 11. This is urgent and important.

The residents will still do their part with Alam Flora participate as planned. The sms have been sent out to those subscribers of SJ Alert in USJ 11 only.

However, there will NOT be any gathering at Chatters as the short notice will not bring any response from the feedback I got. Blame it on MPSJ as I was only being informed of this at 10 am on Thursday morning. It will be effective only if we drop a flyer into all the 3,100 houses announcing this campaign.

Will the Alam Flora trucks be continously collecting throughout the day? I think some residents will still be in bed at 8.00am on a Sunday morning. BTW SJ Alert says from 9.00am onwards....which is a bit more doable.

Any statistics (official or otherwise) about this latest outbreak? Unfortunately the dengue report banner at USJ11/4 area has not been updated for sometime so the impression is that the dengue threat here is over and we have become complacent as usual.
