Kids these days...

I was on my way back home from dinner, and as i turned into the dark SS18/2, at the corner furthest away from the playground, there was this 2 malay kids... probably 14-15 from their looks... one riding on a bike and the other one was walking, both on the middle of the road.

There was oncoming traffic and without thinking twice, they've moved into my way, and decided to be on the middle of the lane... So i gave a quick soft honk, and they didn't bother to move out of the way.. and I had to wait for the oncoming car to pass me, so i could get on the opposite lane to avoid them..

As I passed them, they stared at me, as I stared back and i heard them shout "P*** M** L** C***" with middle fingers up in the air and resume their way back to the middle of the road as though that road belongs to them...

Parents, if you have teenage kids, kindly highlight the importance of being a responsible and polite road user, as the person who honk at them, might not be a neutral me, might be some hot-blooded parang waving ungentle-persons... and their life would be over before anyone knew what happened.. or some drunk drivers might hit them, run them over, barely know what happened and be on his way home.

well, parents needs 21 years with the intention to shape their children into good adults, but learning bad stuff from peers, it takes only a few hours.. unless they are highly disciplined.. but with the culture shock these days, parents' "teaching" their children would only cause them to turn rebellious and become worse..
so that "children commit wrongful doings, parents go to jail" concept, memang tak boleh pakai langsung..

You're too nice to the kids. If I were you, I would have honk louder, and if they showed finger, I'll show them my steering lock, double combo wif a close drive to their blardy feet.

They shout wif vulgarity, I would have U-turned my car and chased them. Ok ok, back to reality, I really would have just stopped the car, screw them son of b*t*h!

Lucky thing they are around your area and not mine. Even if they are from my area, I'll just walked to their hse and tell their parents what they did. No one from my area can run away from it.

Nevertheless, what you did is correct.... we should tell their parents about the attitude of their kids. As a parent, we cannot 24 hours on the guard for everything the kid do... if you are a neighbour, you should inform the parents. If no action taken... this shows one thing - same same So, just give stern warning and whack if they were to repeat again.

well, I'll never fight back..
after all they are just kids.. what would others say if I thrash them up?
They'll say i bully kids..
and if the kids thrash me up, they say this uncle so teruk, kids also cannot win...
so it would be a lose-lose situation..

so what if their father looks like hulk hogan? does size matter?
I'm politely approaching him, if he touches me, I use the arms of law against them... If I lose an ear, I'll be able to retire from the "out of court settlements"

Sometimes, parents are nice people, its just that their kids are out of control, due to too much violence in movies and videogames...

So parents, don't let your kids play Grand Theft Auto, if you don't believe me, play it yourself for an hour..

But some kids bahave nicely at home and their parents thought that they are the best kids in the world ~~~

But when they are out on the road ....... maybe their parents are not aware that their kids are bahaving badly outside, just my opinion

Parents are responsible for their kids, there is no doubt about it.
They have to make time and put in some effort, esp. from young to instil strong values. Basic foundation is very very important and would serve this children well when they meet peers of bad influence.

but then, I do noticed that kids learn bad/naughty stuff faster than good stuff... maybe its just human nature..

Actually I personally feel that the vulgarities is not that big an issue cos they usually grow out of it somehow or another.. and if they don't, well they wont go far... But when it comes to ATTITUDE I feel that is more important. Too pampered. Most kids act like people owe them something, not pro-active and not daring to go out of their comfort zone.

As a senior in my university I can notice the difference between my batch and the freshmen. We used to have a crazy orientation week, training and practicing and doing what we had to do until we hardly had sleep.. punishment was also harsher. I'm sure all of you have 'fond' memories of those times. Nowadays, they are ensured to have enough time to rest as many of them just faint off. Seniors are told to be easy on them by university officials. Too much scolding, some break into tears (even guys!) and some faint (yet again..). AND THEY COMPLAIN! I once reprimanded a junior and the reply I got was "What are the consequences if I dont??" Not just in the physical/emotional endurance, but when it comes to organizing projects; most like to take the easy way out of dropping out - lack of commitment.

I could go on...and on... but yea.. you all get the picture

I do agree that to some extend it's attitude but i still blame it all on their parents, it is either the parents doesn't care about them at all or they just blindly pampered them to such extend.

I still prefer the days where parents just cane you with the ratan stick if you misbehave. Not saying that beating is the way but children these days are overly pampered and protected. Went to friends house and i see their brother or sister saying vulgar words toward their parents. What's that!? I would never say those word to my parents, it's just morally wrong. Anyway, i'm glad my parents cane me in a good way

Anyway, kids nowadays really lack of discipline from school and from parents.
