Get REAL, I DO NOT think that the majority of married men are unfaithful have you had any first hand experience on that?? the word you've used shouldn't only pertain to men and aren't women promiscuous in the past or CURRENTLY promiscuous themselves if they get into a relationship with a promiscuous partner??

I don't think one should confuse cheating with being promiscuous.

Being promiscuous means having many partners. I think that's ok in itself as long as no one is or will be suffering. As far as I'm concerned, being promiscuous is pretty childish, but ok for those that are borne like that it's ok as long as they're responsible about it, i.e. no one is or will be suffering. I actually think promiscusity is pretty equal among the sexes. I don't see a woman being promiscuous as worse or better than a man being it.

Cheating means breaching a contract of trust. Someone is or will be suffering. Sometimes more than one will be suffering through the deeds of one. That's absolutely horrific and inexcusable.

Yes...more than one party gets hurt but what do they care...live life to the max...one life, so must do everything..then maybe worry...maybe not...depends on individual.....sigh...

Of course....i know!...someone close to me had first hand experience...still bleeding in her heart but alas...she has to lick her wounds all by herself...but she`s a tough one...she will survive!!!

Perhaps most of you have never come across this type of discussion before. In a nutshell, it tries to explain why males tend to have multiple partners whereas females are monogamous.

If you may allow me, let us look at a man who have no sociological or evolutionary developments and still retain this primeal urge...

a) The genetic theory is that animals need to procreate in large numbers in order to survive the hazards of nature, such as being hunted and eaten by wild animals or succumb to diseases. Hence, the promiscuous male of the successful species have been selected naturally because they were promiscuous and had successfully impregnated many females.

b) The females cannot afford to be promiscuous because they have to bear with a gestation period, ie carry the child in the womb. This is a stressful responsibility and the females who are promiscuous would risk miscarriages and thus such traits would die off, leaving less promiscuous females to sucessfully survive and breed more females with less promiscuous traits.

The simple analogy will give you a logical reason why most males tend to have multiple partners and not females.

Of course in modern days, with less risks like being eaten or killed by disease, the need to be promiscuous would reverse.
