Monday or Sunday beginning of the week?

Okay...was arguing with Hubby the other day...he claims sunday is the beginning of the week...but i say it's monday....So who is right??

Some calendars start off the week with Sunday. Thus giving people the idea that Sunday is the beginning of the week. Personally I think Monday should be the beginning of the week. If Sunday is the beginning, then whatever happened to weekends?

Aye, Sunday is the beginning of the week, as you must remember that the Roman calendar is invented by them and Sun is a holy day for them (Just the same as Fridays are holy for muslims).

Generally, people will consider Sunday as the beginning of the week.... that's the reason why hotels' weekend rate is meant for Friday night and Saturday night. Sunday night was not consider as weekend rate.

Nevertheless, those considering Monday as the beginning of the week also not wrong...

When I was still in school, I was taught that Sunday's the start of the week.
But not too long ago, I heard some international organization (can't remember) proposed to fix Monday as the start.

Academicly, pls don't confuse your child. SUNDAY is the FIRST day of the week and that's what stated in the Year 1 English and Math textbooks. If you are sitting for a Malaysian govt exam, please remember this too!

But on my h/p, I program it as such that the week starts on Monday.
More convenient that way.

to some people it does not matter if sunday is first day or not. Everyday is a sunday to then - no need to work.

Sunday is the 1st day of the week and Saturday the last, dat's y Sat & Sun are referred to as the Weekend.
