If you were to read the Japan Times, you would find it an almost daily occurence of students there jumping off buildings, onto railway tracks etc .....

Student ends up in hospital after jump dare
The 12-year-old will spend part of the upcoming school holidays recovering from the broken ankle he sustained when he landed on the concrete floor below.

    Parents with Boys

To those parents with boys please take care of your kids..(maybe make sure your kids do not imitate stunts from movies, etc.) ..., yes, I have done this act before but LOL luckily I didn't jump from the SECOND story as shown in the video clip. I merely jumped from three quarter of a story.

there are many reasons why boys would do this. For me when I was in school, it was for fun. Anyways, I could have climbed down but I choose to jump. (I had to climb up to the 1st floor to get equipment stuff from a classroom as there was a gate locked at the ground floor). I think I was 15 or 16 then. So my bones were more dense than this primary school kid. Furthermore, the height of jump wasn't as high as this kid. Furthermore, I landed on grass while this kid landed on concrete pavement / drain....
For this boy's case, his friends dared him to jump and I guess, in order to show that he is "brave", he decided to jump!

He has the calibre to become a stunt man.....
Trust me.... If a show director / stuntman hires him, he has a bright future after proper training

For the boy who jumped off the 2nd story, I hope his doctor has checked the patient's body thoroughly especially for internal injuries.

To Mache and Sinleong who commented that the boy was "stupid" / brainless, yes he was to a certain extend.
He could have just jumped from the first story and not land himself in the hospital. but instead, he wanted to be a "hero", a "stuntman" and a "macho man" and so he jumped from the 2nd

Remember those days when we come home from school, Mum would be there waiting for us with lunch and some time to chit chat about school and school work. Nowadays, Mum is at work.

Remember those days, when Dad gets off work at 5.00pm, he would be back home by 5.15pm because there was no such thing as traffic jams or happy hours to hold him back. Nowadays, Dad has to be at Happy Hours, to do some networking to keep his job or as an excuse to wait till the traffic jams are over.

Children nowadays do not have the valuable time they need from Mum and dad like we used to get.

I believe this is the biggest handicap to society today. Nah, they are just kids, they are not brainless and stupid, just need guidance and we adults owe it to them to provide them with guidance....

Well, boy will be boys. But I must admit this particular stunt is a little insane.

We did in our time challenged each other to all sorts of things esp. during our scouting days. Have fallen into rivers before, walk across graveyardss at night, make the loudest fire cracker, etc.

I think I still hold the unofficial school record for the farthest piss shout-out.

I didn't know that they have created this new category for you. The last I know I am still the record holder for the furthest piss shoot out which stood at 9.93 feet. So yours must be in decibel?

sup sup water = HAM SAP

    haha

anyways, when boys are young, they would tend to do things without thought of consequences. I think this boy who jumped from the 2nd storey, if he is brave enough, maybe he would apply to be a stuntman in some local shows or something like that. Otherwise, he may get scolding from his parents and that may put him off and he will never be a stuntman.

anyone has contact with stunt directors ?

the message here is also clear. parents must pay attention to what their boys do. luckily there wasn't a 3rd floor.

Young boys will do stupid thing like this...
I remember when I was very young, a bunch of us cousins would go up to my grandma's bungalow's 1st floor balcony, then daring each others to jump down.
It's always the older cousins will jump down, and landed safely on the grass field down there, then followed by a rotan chase scene, either from the moms or grandma
There's a few occasion of dislocated shoulder and arm, and stitched wounds, but they still go back there daring each others once they have recovered.
    Boys always be boys

Luckily that time I'm still quite young and can't climb over the balcony yet
