Daim's son buys 5.18% stake in Magnus Energy

According to the Spore Biz Times, Wira Dani b Abdul Daim, the son of former Msian finance minister Daim Zainuddin, has become the 3rd-largest shareholder in Spore Sesdaq-listed Magnus Energy.

He bought 80 million shares (a 5.18% stake) in the company through his British Virgin Islands-incorporated company, Skyline Agents, at a cost of S$17.6 million.

The 2 largest shareholders in Magnus Energy are also Malaysians - Harry Lee with 14.58% and Neo Kim Hock with 10.68%.

Maybe I should go buy some shares in Magnus Energy!

    Early 30s?

There must be something in the Msian water supply that causes all these bright, young, rich Msian businessmen to spring up, much like mushrooms after a rainstorm!

There's much to be said for capitalism and free markets, Msian-style!

No, lah - it's all due to the benevolent effects of free markets and capitalism!

After all, how can we grudge these youngsters their fame and fortune?

As long as it doesn't start smelling like Enron Energy - your investment should be safe...

Daim runs ICB (International Commercial Bank) Group.
The next generations naturally are inclined in business also.
Its quite a natural path for businessmen.

Hmmm... same age as that other famous son who bought a listed company for a cool RM1.2 billion....... 28 seems the favorite age for mushrooms (or weed, whatever may be the case) to sprout after a rainstorm...
