Both of you go there and fill up a form to make appointment and when the date come, both of you bring your I/C and go there register.

    What's actually make you worry?

If you are not Buddhist, tell them you are a Buddhist.
Or else they will not perform your registration and there will be a lot of red faced relatives....

Err...not as easy as just to fill up form and bring IC lar...

At Thean Hou Temple, they don't give you the forms to bring back home. You have to bring all the necessary documents and fill up the forms on the spot. Then, submit forms with documents and make a booking for a date, which has to be after 21 days but not later than 2 months from date of submission. Documents required include copies of your ICs and birth certificates, your passport sized photos and also copies of your witnesses' ICs. For submisison of forms, both you and your gf must be there. Witnesses only need to be there on the registration day. Oh yeah... registration fee is RM30 or something like that. And yes, at least ONE of you must be a Buddhist in order to get registered there.

I suggest you go to Thean Hou Temple and find out exactly what documents are required and also what other procedures there are. You don't want to mess up the whole thing...

    Good luck!

Yeah, HoneyBee got it covered. But u still need to visit them to check what documentations are required. They will give you a (or two) piece of paper that will tell you what is needed, as well as all info u need to know. This paper is important as they will ask you to bring it along. Then u'll need 2 trips. First, is to submit all the documentations and to book the date. 2nd is the actual day itself.

From personal experince , book a date early. U can book 2 months in advance. So that u get to be the first one. Less waiting time mah. Imagine u hv to wait and wait, with all your suits and gowns, kih kih kih. After that, go take picture around the temple!

Remember to bring your wedding rings there also ICs incase they want to check

Also, your witnesses and their ICs. The fee $$$.

You can choose not to wear the big clumsy white gown there, unless there is a photography session.

If that is such a hassle, you can always go to the city hall.
