    Herb Garden

I'm interested in starting a little herb garden of my own. Preferably herbs that I can plant in pots and use in my cooking, like rosemary, oregano, basil, mint, etc...
I've been looking at nurseries, but can't seem to find the plants or the seedlings. Can anyone suggest where I can get these?

Sigh... so sad, no one has any ideas where to go...
Looks like I still have to buy the dried herbs from the supermarket then.

    herb garden

About your herb garden, Im also keen on starting one. I use to eye those fresh herbs thats selling at Cold Storage,S Parade but its rather expensive. Wish I could grow some.

But I do have some local herbs or ulams like celery, kucai and yim sai(coriander I think) which I plant in pots. It comes in handy if I wanna use it to flavour soups or as garnishing.

    Hi,

peppermint is easily gather from market, you just need to bought some from wet market, pick those leaves for cook and cuck those unuse to the pot, it will grow.

as for basil and chives, you could go to baker shop and grab some seed, one packet about 50 to 1 ringgit only

Wah! The pictures look so nice.

Is the ketumbar the chinese parsley? Like the ones that are sprinkled on top of steam fish at the chinese restaurants? Where did you buy the seeds from? The local grocery shops?

    coriander seeds

    Hi Babyziyang,

You are rite, the coriander is the same kind as those that people use for garnishing steam fish,, its also called yim sai in cantonese or ketumbar in BM.

I got mine from those seed packets they sell at giant quite a while back. But I think those that you buy from grocery stores can be used as well. But before you plant them, try to pound it slightly to open it into 2 halves, if not it will take some time to germinate.
