Roof Ventilator-any Recommendation?

I felt my house is hot & stuffy,especially the living & dining area. I have check out the Housemate Insulation System with Styrofoam but is very expensive Is the roof ventilator really effective? Appreciate your suggestions, comments and recommendation. TQ.

Whatever you do, do not install those rubbish roof top turbine ventilators.

I installed 2 units of the biggest and most expensive models a few years back but after a year, dismantled them for scrap metal.

They leak into the house when it rains heavy, they don't make much of a difference in lowering the temperature in the house at all. They may make a difference when you install a few hundred on top of a factory, but for the house... zilch..

Get a high powered fan instead, those that sit on the floor.

Do you close all your understairs windows and doors? I find that it helps tremendously. It keeps the outside air from coming in as it is very hot outside. When it is cooler, we will open it again but never during the afternoon. It works for me.

I installed rockwool insulation throughout many years back. No regrets. It does NOT cure stuffiness or improve ventilation. It reduces the internal temp by a noticible amount.

Hahaha.... It will only work if proper cfm calculation is made. The last time I calculated, I think you would need one every four feet, if I'm not mistaken, hence dropped the idea....electrical exhaust fan is much better and cheaper! :-)

So it means that up to 4 roof turbines just WON'T WORK and a waste of good money. Perhaps this is why there's hardly anyone promoting these anywhere for quite a long time already and people who bought them just don't realize any benefit at all.
