KL, the world's cheapest city?
Or so a recent survey by UBS (a major Swiss bank) would have us believe.
According to an AP report,In a list of 77 cities, KL is the cheapest city, followed by Mumbai, Buenos Aires and New Delhi.
Oslo is the most expensive, followed by London, Copenhagen, Zurich and Tokyo.
The survey is based on the cost of a basket of 122 goods and services.
And, of course, the bankers at UBS must have taken into account the esoteric concept of PPP (purchasing power parity).
KL the cheapest city? Wonder how the govt's PR flacks will spin this?

Well we can't deny that our petrol remains one of the cheapest around, and also that our necessities are affordable while the luxurities, well they remain luxurities lah.
Compared with a city like London where their luxurities are cheap but their daily necessities are expensive, maybe sometimes we really shouldn't complain so much after all
As it is food in Singapore and Malaysia goes by the value of the $$$. not currency. A simple plate of Wan Tan Mee in Singapore is easily SGD$ 3 while it may still be at RM 3.50 here. Ok if you work there, earn there and spend there tho. But if you wanna convert, go convert a bottle of mineral water in London which costs 1 pound.

Obviously they are right with their currency conversion everyting is dirt cheap for them in Malaysia..including wine, women & song. Its paradise man.
