if anybody read 易经, i would recommend the only two books written by 霍斐然 : (1) 斐然研易集 (2) 斐然数术集.

There is a quotation about I-Ching : "The classics of all classics. The wisdom of all wisdom." It is the infra-structure of the Chinese philosophy. After reading into it for a year, i roughly know what it is about.

It says this universe started to change from 0 (2 power 0 = 1). Then from this 1 came + and - (2 power 1 = 2). Then 2 power 2 = 4, thoes are Day, Night, Sun and Moon. Then 2 power 3 = 8 phenomenons on earth : Sky(Heaven), Sea, Sun(Fire), Thunder, Wind, Water(Moon), Mountain, Earth. These are the 8 basic symbols (3-stroke) of the Ba Kua. And when these 3-stroke symbol combines with another, 64 (2 power 6) Gua appear. These 64 Gua (6-stroke) represents the changes of the universe as well as everything on earth. I read about story that Leibniz read the I-Ching which his missionary friend in China posted to him then and got inspired for his invention :

Leibniz (one of the inventors of computer) found some sort of confirmation for his theories in the I Ching's depiction of the universe as a progression of contradicting dualities, a series of on-off, yes-no possibilities, such as dark-light and male-female, which formed the complex interaction of life and consciousness. He reasoned that, if life itself could be reduced to a series of straightforward propositions, so could thought, or logic.

And today we have learn that the DNA genetic code is unveiled and it is amazingly similar to the I-Ching 64 Kua. In a book called The I Ching and the Genetic Code by Dr. Martin Schnberger, pointing out the correlation between the 64 kua and the nucleotide sequence and amino acid bases in the RNA/DNA molocule. Since then this association has appeared a number of times, most recently on the Net. As Tony Smith points out, this shows that the genetic code, the I Ching, and the D4-D5-E6 physics model are all just different representations of the same fundamental structure.
