Malaysians can go to 120 countries without visas.

    Excert from Bangkokpost.com:
Citizens of Finland, Denmark and the United States have the greatest freedom to travel without visas, according to a study by the Swiss firm Henley & Partners AG.

Thais rank way down the list of citizens able to visit countries without visas. Finns, Danes and Americans can go to 130 countries without a visa - Thais can go to just 29.

Singaporeans can go to 122 different countries without visas, and Malaysians can visit 120.

Even Saudi Arabians can go to two more countries than Thai citizens. Below Thais on the list are Iranians, Iraqis, Chinese and, at the bottom, Afghanis, who can go to just 12 countries without a visa.

Here is the list of main countries and the number of countries which citizens can visit without obtaining visas, compiled by the Swiss firm on its website.

    Finland (130)
    Denmark (130)
    United States (130)
    Ireland (129)
    Sweden (129)
    Germany (129)
    United Kingdom (128)
    Italy (128)
    France (128)
    Japan (128)
    Spain (127)
    Norway (127)

My mum is a US citizen and we (hubby and I) were making plans to visit her this coming March. I already have a US Visa but hubby doesn't so, off he goes for the US Visa interview. He's brought every document that the embassy would require, including plane tickets, company letter, bank statements etc BUT his application was rejected! Dah lah kena pay RM380 processing fee.... I mean, what process?? The interview hardly lasted 7 mins!

Here's the ridiculous part: The questions that they asked him was absurd and totally irrelevant. Questions like - How long have you known your wife? Why did you guys get married so soon (We've been married almost 1 and a half years)? Why does your wife have a duty/transit visa? Why haven't you travelled much out of Malaysia (Is it a crime to not frequently cuti-cuti out of M'sia???)

Gosh, what is their problem? A family of 4 who was planning to go for a US tour was also rejected but only the children's Visas!! What the point of a family outing when only the parents get the visa?

Now I know why the embassy is soooo rich... Easy money. If 100 applicants a day, reject 52 of them... 52 x RM380 = RM19,760 profit woh... Easy money.

All this frustration and I find out that Singaporeans does not need a VIsa to enter US... frust... frust...

In life, we cannot have everything. We should learn to be satisfied. I will rather be happy that it is 120 countries that I can go into instead of being unhappy that it is not 122.

Yes, fully agree. 120 countries already agree to let Malaysians come into their country without visa. Why US still insist on visa? If US still insist that Malaysians should apply for a visa to come to US, them it is not our or our government's fault at all. And I think there is no need for us to kowtow or nice-nice to US just to get them to agree to let us in without visa.

Actually there is a way...I heard it from somewhere I forgot...to enter to US, you need to get your mom or anyone is US which is kinda have status to sponser your husband...with her letter ...then it should be no problem...

another way - (I got this from a blog - belongs to my fren)

First, gotta go to any RHB Bank branch and bank in RM 380 to apply for US visa. Just go to the counter, and say you wanted to pay for US visa - they’ll know what to do for you - you’ll need to safeguard the pink slip and bring along during your interview at the US Embassy.

Then, fill up the online form that can be found at the US embassy site. Then print it out, and schedule for your interview at the embassy online. You must personally come to the embassy for an interview unless you’re exempted. Then bring all the supporting documents - your financial statements, payslips, company invitation letter to US visit, flight itinerary and booking information, etc (as much as you need to prove to them that you’re financially capable to survive and come back here). Also, attach a 2inch-by-2inch photograph of yourself, yes, it’s a square photo! Also, don’t forget your passport!

Then on the day of your interview, go there and be sure you reach there 30 mins before your scheduled time. Else you’ll end up in a long long queue. Go in, submit your documents, and wait for your turn to be interviewed at the counter, they’ll take down your fingerprints and if approved, they’ll tell you to collect your passport in a few working days time, otherwise they’ll return your passport immediately if rejected.

During collection, you can only collect between 2-3pm at the embassy entrance
