    DatinLawa,

The above topic doesn't mean any harm to other people and if it does, I apologize for that.....

I just happen to read some papers and realize that many would go to spa, relaxation, massage or beer drinking , gamble and etc but say "NO" to donation to the needy.

While I spoke to the Administrator, he told me that probably i could have go over to visit those kids before I made any donation.... so I offer the shoe rack and towel, pillow, bolster (as written on the web page)

I admit I bought those unnecessity thing but I would give away when those thing found their new owner...

Initially, I have doubt to go St Barnabas empty handed , so I have some old shoes rack , but whatever I give away to them if found not in need, they would put it for sell to exchange money.

I did spend Rm 381.06 on their basic neccessity if you need the resit, send a mail to my yahoo.

u should be proud with your job that many have lost job due to their age, so don't think you work like a dog, think you are just playing with something new and enjoy ...... be positive to learn so you would have successful career in future and this is just a stepping stone for you.... and of course everyone deserve the right to spend money they want ..... to be happy.

I think that leewinnie46 is right on the dot to say the above. It is the truth though it hurts a lot. If you don't do such thing, then you have nothing to be upset. Sometime, people need to be jolted to wake them up. Can you imagine the frustration when one is so fired up to do something good only to have all kind of comments hurled at you just because one harmless statement. It is a fact that people are rather slow to respond to do something for the ordinary but will pour all out on something sensational eg Tsunami. I don't believe in doing that. Remember this saying "Charity begins at home." It is also the thought that counts and not the amount. We should instead encourage her by providing more suggestions how to improve her contribution of a shoe rack and old towels but don't be cruel and pour cold water on her back. Remember she is giving away the towels so got nothing left to dry herself. And leewinnie, let me know when you are going there. I will drive you there.

Err...Orchi doesn't have to wait for others...whom may or may not choose to donate...n if they do...they could of course choose the kinds of charitable causes to contribute to...but agree that every little bit counts...ahem...so it really doesn't matter how much or in what forms of contributions others may have in mind...n Orchi for one would do whatever is possible...

Ahem...it sure beats nothing at all...

pcyeoh, i would need many people suggestion and support and maybe i could only give away shoes rack and towel before I got there and liase with the administrator....and gather some stationery from aurora as he got wholesale price for St barnabas Home .......

i can't constantly help one home but would go around to drive those thing needed as basic living ....

i only need sufficient shoes rack and sufficient towel (for exchange), so the rest is watch and disinfect with Dettol before I drive those thing there

really thanks for your concern and God bless you

    arlo.. leewinie46,
all i can say is continue with the good work and don't be discouraged, although i have closed my thread. I believe the internet is the ultimate tool for linking people especially for logistical reasons, effective and fast communication. As a buyer/seller on ebay & lelong.com.my, i know the effectiveness of employing the internet as a vehicle not only for trading online but also to do charitable deeds (provided your truly sincere).

Anyway Good luck and God speed in your small mission.

"Charitable deeds always start at your own backyard."
Humans are unique creatures, no matter what one individual does, it will not suffice or be contented with. This is one factor which differentiates us between humans are animals, the will to strive for the better.

My apology was for forgetting to be a gentleman and jumping at you. Not for my remark because I still believe you are out of line with your "Many would go spa, relaxation, massage, beer drinking activity with RMxxx but not mean for poor orphanage home". You are entitled to your belief as I am entitled to disagree with it. Even if a person does not help out and wants to spend his money on various forms of relaxation, it is his money and he can do what he likes. However, I do applaud you fully for your selfless work done and yes, nobody should ever question you on your shoe-rack and old towels. Nobody should ever put a price of gifts freely given. A person who gives RM10k to the orphanage doesn't mean that he is more generous in the heart and soul than a person who gives RM10.

winnie, you might wan to thank me for writing that reply therefore so many "samaritans" jumped out and responded to you call... and you have pcyeoh to drive you there!!! hahhaa...

if you read my post "correctly", have never mentioned doubting your other charitable acts (for you pcyeoh as well)... and have never put dollars to any donation made to any... and definitely not interested to look at your resit showing the RM381.06...

my point is very simply, all layman should understand unless some choose to understand otherwise... am not criticizing your MODE of donation and your kindhearted (not sarcasm please) call in this forum... it's what you have said in your previous post about "Many would go spa, relaxation, massage, beer drinking activity with RMxxx but not mean for poor orphanage home"... i stand by what i said, you have no right to say that and you cannot expect everyone to pour ALL the extra cents out to help the needy unless you are doing that yourself, then you might have the same expectation that everyone should follow what you have done... and that, is wrong too...

    for pcyeoh... qoute your sentence:
"If you don't do such thing, then you have nothing to be upset."

we dun voice our opinion or express our dissatisfaction in this forum simply becoz someone is stepping on your toes... someone would criticize the gomen and someone would defend even if that someone is not a gomen officer... someone criticize the transexual, another would defend eventhough he/she's not a transexual... to curb your curiosity, i've never been to any spa or massage eventhough i really need one (massage) especially after delivery, therefore i responded out of my disagreement to the statement she made... not becoz that hurts me... in fact i have said that on behalf of all who have been to spa or massage or beer drinking or holidays (a form of relaxation) but did not respond to her post (yes, too much initiative i think)...

mistake is painful and you have to pay for that... if i have done or said something not right or naive, i would expect people to bombard me... for that, i would think again before i do the same thing the next time...

lastly winnie, please dun take it personally... i too apologize if i was too harsh on you... but i stand by what i've said...

by the way, people dun lose job becoz of their age, they retire (except for those too young to get a job becoz of lack of experience, not losing a job coz they never had one)... i enjoy my work every bit and preparing for the old age when i retire (if i am poor with nothing to spend and no where to live, might need your help to solicit for donation again, ha! )...

    DatinLawa, Jose Mourinho,

When I flip thru some paper that day to draft such reply in this thread, I never aspect if anyone who help me to do anything charitable, but if someone who wanted to do, by all mean, they don't need any ground work as I have pointed that in my thread..... even if I have try fulfill some basic need.

But while I read a line in which it state as," leave the old , poor and needy ppl to the government and we are here to use our money for luxurious lifestyle ....... we spend RMxxxxxx on good spa, we spend RMxxxxxxxx on nice clothing, and ........, because we deserve the best and other need to work hard to enjoy the same as we do"..... I really start to feel very bad as this kind of post could apply to teenage, young and old people or whoever who read it and set it as a target in their lifestyle and adapt with it...... moreover it's from a favourable singer...... a misleading phrase from a singer - I once think of that... (in a chinese paper)

I feel a bit sad and sour feeling , even if you ought to enjoy that kind of lifestyle but being a singer , actor or whatever, you earn a lot of audience that listen and follow the footstep of your lifestyle too....... Do you have to broadcast to everyone in regard to your lifestyle to earn respect in this way ???

For instance, a singer broadcast he smoke 5 pack of dunhill to enjoy a better lifestyle, do you agree with that again so in later stage, your son and daughter would think that's true and follow..... ? That's my point, someone trying to influence other to adapt this kind of misleading ideal, when this happen to our children, they would revert to you as they got style and class mah, after 5 pack cigarette lor...

But for DatinLawa, JoseMourinho, I have no right to interfere anybody lifestyle, because that's your hard earn money....

Datin Lawa, you ought yourself to go to any spa (noted your post) where ever you wanted...... sorry if i accidently step on your foot......thousand apologize ah.... please forgive me....

Due to age, many got kick from the company after service 10 to 25 years in that reputable company...... the management answer would be, it's time to retire , we don't see any career improvement on you (someone help to earn RMx,xxx, xxx, xxx while the economic is good), we need some new fresh blood in our team, with your experience you could get a job easily with other company.....

I would hope if i can help while someone need help..... is my pleasure DatinLawa, but also thanks for opening my eyes as I see invisible samaritan jump out suddenly.....
