Dont forget to visit the riverside explanade and observe how clean the river is. I was really quite amazed to note that the river was so unpolluted. Compared to Klang river...aiyoh !!!! Cannot compare at all lah!! Go see for yourself. And dont forget to visit on of their famous biscuit shops..very popular amongst tourists. Dont think you can in miss it. Right in town. They have samples for every item they sell there. Very hospitable I must say.

    hello,

u know what, at first when i move to muar, i thought rm0.50 pc is damn exp. but after i seee the stuff i know why is worth the price.

the fish/prawn is so damn fresh, and the proportion is bigger than u eat anywhere. trust me i am a otak-otak sucker, i had try in penang, kl and also jjb, but none as gd as it. well, tastiness is in the tongue of beholder.

It was many years ago that they indiscrimately increased the price to what we now know, eventhen local Muarians got annoyed at the unscrupulous price for instant jump in profit!..so I've been told by a local there.
Having said that, good and tasty food don't come cheap nowadays.

You're a sucker for otak-otak?.Me too! when I used to visit my son schooling there..I used to tar pau like 150 sticks and bring back!.NO DISCOUNT! some more!..Those were the days!

Haven't been there for ages. Are the best otak-otak shops still behind the railway/bus station?

Red face Nasuha Spice Farm/Museum (Pagoh-Muar)

Tks to all Muarian and USJ forumers.

Found a few interesting food stores and restaurants from the web.

    1) Pak Yayah Asam Pedas,Parit Jawa
    2) Oyster Omelette, Jln Haji Abu
    3) Satay Muar, Jln Haji Abu
    4) Straits View Rest, Parit Jawa
    5) Mee Bandung Abu Bakar (Wah San Restaurant)
    6) Seng Kee Otak-Otak (Jalan Haji Abu)
    7) Fish Ball Noodles (Jalan Haji Abu).

Anyone has any idea of this Nasuha Spice Farm/Museum along the Pagoh/Muar road ?

The Nasuha Spice farm was featured in "Jalan-jalan Cari Makan". Besides selling herbs, there is a restaurant offering Herbal Baryani,

I was there a few months ago, and for a set baryani ayam (dhal, acar and fruits plus a choice of herbal tea) was RM10.00. Wasn't bad .... after stuffing yourself and feeling "sinful", the herbal tea can help wash away the feelings
