Taking taxis to USJ or from USJ to KL/PJ

Just wondering, I hardly see any taxis in USJ. are taxis willing to take passengers to USJ at all? do they insist on their illegal surcharge?

i might want to take a taxi from Damansara to USJ, particularly late at night and was wondering if it's an impossible task.

got arrr.... i took it once with my friend 8 buxs (6 years back) it was a radio taxi of course (pre booked).... during peak hours they'll probably demand more..
if it's late then expect to pay even more (i heard x2)..

or if its a one off type of thing you can tumpang me... if you don't mind that is.

Honestly don't know why taxis bother to drive around USJ if they don't want to pick passengers.

Recently got off the Komuter train at Subang Parade. Waited nearly an hour for a taxi. Every single one that I stopped said "USJ ah? Tak mau...Jamlah."

    So freaking irritating!

My other half was boiling mad and I was quite sure he was ready to strangle the next taxi driver that said that. Finally I got one young Indian guy..had to beg and plead with him for 5 minutes until he gave in.

Another time, also outside the komuter station, one taxi refused, the other one behind him asked for RM20 to take us to USJ 23. We just agreed to it because it was raining and we were tired.

Bas Mini isn't any better. They stuff it till people are practically oozing off the bus. So overloaded!

Whats that again? Selangor developed state?

    hehehehe..ya right!

what a shame, i would think that with usj's huge population, middle income and some lower income as well, there would be a big enough market for the taxis to serve.

or is this an indication that USJ residents generally well off enough to not have to rely on public transport?

I know a gweilo in USJ who has a technique that works for him. First he gets in the taxi, then he tells the driver where he wants to go. If the driver says he's not going there, the European goes: No, you're not going, I am going there. Mind you, I think it only works because he's a heavily built, irate sort of guy.

There are extra charges for anytime of the day n nite .. since it's jam evrywhere .. u'll c those cabbies hiding in certain areas .. USJ 6 n USJ 2 there got plenty of taxis ...

Remember once i took a cab back from KL to USJ at midnite and was practically drunk as well .. that fella wanted double of the usual rate and it's not going by meter as well.

Seriously, if that time i can drive i would drive myself all the way back home.

If you've observed at Giant USJ entrance, see how those taxi fellas behave and obstruct the main entrance for years?. Their behavior, blatance and arrogance is a dismay.

    Thumbs down

Taxi drivers......huh!!! They want to cari makan, but they are sooo aksi, demanding, rude...especially the Chinese cab drivers. Whenever I have to take a cab from KLIA, I always tell the organiser I dont want any Chinese driver cabs. I have had sooooo many bad experience with them, it makes my blood boil just to think of those incidents.

Try to beat this one. Once got into a cab and just as we were leaving KLIA, I just made a casual Chinese greeting to the cab driver " How is business?". Before I knew what was happening, he bamboo me on why I had to take his taxi. By taking his taxi to USJ, he had lost the opportunity to get a better fare to KL. Then he went on to grumble and grumble and grumble. And all this while I didnt say a word. Partly I didnt have any chance to even say anything! He went on and on and on...and started to drive very recklessly to show his displeasure all the way till we reach my place. We got off the cab and before we could hardly close his door properly, he sped off..almost made me fall.

My only regret is not taking note of his cab number and post it here for all to see.

Another case was a Chinese cab driver who scolded me all the way from the old Subang airport to Subang because I couldnt speak Cantonese properly. Would you believe it?

Last but not least, The whole taxi cab in this country needs a thorough OVERHAUL.
Who else but can we blame the Ministry of Transport or Taxi association for the very bad opinion of many locals and foreigners alike. Should they claim they've done anything, many could agree with me its not improved or achieved anything, yet they're either blind or deaf! Anything else I'd say could be a curse.
