I thought Strawberry Fields is there in Subang Parade but closed down few years ago and in operations at Taipan after that. Some foods are good, but not for the cleanliness.

One of my favorite noodle shop is in SS14 facing the Metropolitan College. It is a corner shop and they sell various fish balls, different types of meat ball, foo chook and tau foo with fish paste. With 2 tau foo and one foo chook it usually costs me $4.60 ($1.80 for noodle, $1 x 2 tau foo and 80 cents for foo chook.) This shop is better known for its fish ball (50 cents) but they are smaller so I do not opt for it.

I always take their soup noodle as their chilli goes perfectly with it. I think the shop name is Teik See or something like that. It is always packed on weekends.

I was back in Taiping for a few days and a friend took me to this Indian shop called Chetty Nad on Main Road (near St George's.) Have to say that it was quite good. I noticed that most people had nasi kandar but we had ala carte. The fish curry was very good (I had a small fish head which costs RM5.00) Taiping folks could give this a try.

Yesterday lunch, I went to Taman Megah in PJ where this Fatty Crab restaurant is. I went to this Pangkor Fish Head Curry restaurant which has been there for many years but I've never really tried it. They don't served pork there so basically is PORK FREE. No worries

It's right at the corner, upstairs is air-cond and not so stuffy. They also have a balcony like to let ppl sit there if they wish to smoke. I ordered their famous fish head curry, portion is ok but the 'kuah' seems like not enough. So had to ask them to add. Also ordered:

    1. Sambal petai with prawns
    2. Deep fried sotong (it's big and fresh)
    3. Special taufu
    4. Kailan with garlic
    5. Spinach with belacan

All the portion is ok, if you big eater then ok, if any small eater around then must tell them make small ones. For 9 pax, it's about RM 159.

    Crabs

Someone told me of a restaurant in Sg Buloh that serves crabs for RM18/kilo. Supposed to be good and popular. Does anyone know about this shop and if so, how to get there?

They should..I don't see any Muslims patronizing their restaurant, anyway. With0ut lard, the food's flavor isn't quite as appetizing. I know lard is bad for the heart in the long run, but once in a while, it does no harm. Having said that, I personally know some people who swear that food with0ut lard tastes way better.

Just came back from nite roaming around Penang for food. Firstly, I went to New Lane where this Sunway Hotel is located so actually at nite there is quite happening. Went there and I started moving around and order:

    1. Leng Chee Kang (so so only)
    2. Chu Chap Porridge (one of the best I had there, chu chap is really crispy and it even has 'char siew' in it)
    3. Fried oyster (not good)
    4. Lobak (so so not so good)
    5. Chee Cheong Fun (apparently my friend said is nice but I don't really prefer penang style)

Then we adjourn to go Pulau Tikus for lok-lok but while on the way there we stop by this lorong dunno what is the name also but they sell nice chill coconut with pandan flavour. After drinking the coconut and if you want eat the meat in there, you can request for them to open it but there is no spoon for you to eat with it ... ??? Me too at first, but later a friend showed me how to eat with it without a spoon. Really kinda unique way of enjoying a coconut drink & eating the meat. You ought to try and no, you have to find out yourself how to eat it there.

Went to Pulau Tikus, the lok-lok stall is not open so we quickly drive all the way to Gurney Drive and it was already raining at that time and yet we still had the motivation to go and explore it. That's the spirit!!! So reach Gurney DRive there already we actually went and have this rojak fruit which is recommended by my friend to be the best there.

Stall no. 39 GP Soon which is next to the public toilet. Must try!! Then I ordered this drink which for the first time I found it only in Gurney Drive which is the Bird Nest Tea for only RM1.80 of cos without thinking twice I want to try it immediately.

Now am so full and bloated. Really satisfied with tonite's meal.

Aisey go penang ah.. you should have tried the original (some say lah! ) asam laksa at the roadside store in the market at air itam. Went there a few times very nice wor.. so much fish in the gravy, right balance between hot and sour and not expensive also.

If go to gurney drive hawker center must eat the penang fried koey teow, can't remember which store, but fried by old man. Very tasty, with lard and duck eggs . Go late habis liao! Best koey teow but expensive and small portion heh heh. Not hard to find.. very crowded one open 7 pm until finish (about 10-11pm lah)

Nasi kandar overpriced and overhyped, so I stop visiting liao. Not worth the money for that kind of food. But there is one mee mamak at a lorong in jalan burma, very nice and reasonable.

Also in penang should head to bukit tambun seafood restaurants, a lot of restaurant there, eat beside the river, in the kampung. Seafood is very fresh and tasty.. not dat cheap but definitely cheaper than SJ. Get mantis prawn super gaint size one , very tasty . Penang food much nicer than wat u get in the klang valley leh.

went to TCK 1920 hakkakaya LG flr promenade 1U.... (not to be confused with cafe 1920 at 2nd flr centrecourt old wing... )

we had tom yum seafood with rice....

n fish n chips set.... whc comes with ice lemon tea, pasta, mash potatoes, n salad....

d fish n chips is not bad... cant complain...

but d seafood in d tom yum was very obviously not fresh.... n d tom yum too salty too....

d verdict... ambience is okie, partially like a sidewalk cafe, but d food is disappointin.... price, not worth it for that kinda food....

Went oso recently to the same restaurant at Midvalley Gardens. Quite a long queue but it was worth it. Price was quite low and food quite good too.

Went to Swenson for Christmas dinner and was rather disappointed with the Christmas main courses. But the most disappointing is the ice-cream. It does not taste the same like it used to. Swenson used to be our favorite place to eat ice cream especially their Earthquakes but after this experience, we better start looking for another ice cream parlour.
