Had lunch at Pantai Seafood in Kayu Ara. Went for the lunch deal. For RM79++, we had talapia fish done sweet and sour (there were like a hundred - ok, it seemed like a hundred! - other methods of preparations!), butter prawns, garlic stir-fried yin-choy, claypot pork slices with salted egg and a large bowl of herbal soup of the day. It was a pretty satisfying lunch.

There is such a restaurant? I didn't know that but I do now. I always eat at restaurants that are packed with a large crowd. Cannot go wrong with that 'recommendation'. . If anyone should drive by, please have a peep inside and do report back asap for I'm feeling hungry again!

That place also quite a lot of people there. There are few dishes that is ok and some dish just try not to order it. Pricing wise, if you cut the 20% coupon from Media Focus and bring it there then you're entitle for the discount. Overall, if you are too lazy to drive further for a good seafood then I guess Subang Crab House will suffice.

I have never been to Devil's Crab. Is it any good? How is it compared to Fatty Crab (Taman Megah)?

I have given up eating CRABS in Klang Valley - no restaurant that I have been to, knows how to cook the "kok" (dry baked) style ... ALL FULL OF SAUCES, no more NATURAL FLAVOUR ... the closest is BBQ but still not the same .... too dry !!

I've never tried Devil's Crab in Subang tho I stayed here for so many years. I can just say that the pricing is much better than Fatty Crab ... as they claimed that their crab is from the same supplier as Fatty Crab too. Maybe you can give a try this weekend and let us know if it is better or worst than Devil's Crab.

What's in a name? Plenty! Haha. "Devil" doesn't bring out the appetite in me..when I see the name...I'm not terribly excited..it somehow doesn't make me want to go makan there. . Maybe that's the reason why you have been staying away from the place?

Aiyah ... the "Devil" in the name represents the ORIGINAL owner's (the shop has changed hands a couple of times if I am not mistaken) family recipe of Portugese/Melaka style of chilli crab ...

ORIGINALLY, it was FANTASTIC but during the first changeover, it became a "PRC"-shop (most of the cooks from PRC), then the taste went downhill (for me) and I have not been there again ...

I know but still, the word "devil" does nothing to my appetite. No "pulling factor"...but that is just me.

Used to sell dry baked crabs in my heydays in Ipoh where it was handpicked by myself to be at least 800gm to 1.5 kg each at the wholesaler. Baked whole (without innards) and stiuffed with stuffing where it is considered as truly Devilled Crabs. Once done, the whole restaurant filled with the aroma of spiced stuffed crabs. It was served with no sauce unless requested. Even then, i charged Rm10.00 for the sauce as it was simmered with real crabs. Served with garlic bread. But then every friday and Saturday, it was cooked to the max with my 5 XL ovens. Was it good? Dunno, I was allergic to crabs then!
