Four of us went to Soon Kee Sea Food Restaurant at Bandar Baru Klang. Had seafood curry served in a claypot; big prawns, fish, and sotong (portion enough for 4 adults). Had bitter gourd fried with eggs and prawns. Third dish was claypot tau foo, Together with drinks and rice, total bill came up to $55.00. I think I am going to Klang for dinner more often.

This morning right after church, drove all the way down to PJ, Paramount to have breakfast. Restaurant Sorn which is back to back with Restaurant O&S that would normally be my preferred. I have heard from many around that this pork noodle stall is quite good, well at least better than those stall in Subang Jaya. So went there to try. Was one of their 1st customer there, so aunty very happy to make 5 bowls large for me with extra egg inside.

Indeed the pork noodle is delicious but the liver is a lil over cooked altho I don't fancy that but its' over cooked! There was this new stall just open which is also very tempting while waiting for my noodles to arrive. The all time M'sian favourite nasi lemak!! The aroma of the rice and the way they cook is very attractive and I can smell from the next table. Fried the chicken on the spot there too so which makes it very crispy and hot on spot! Definitely will go back there again to try the nasi lemak stall hopefully they last long enough for me to go back and give a try.

Btw, that 5 bowls of pork noodles with lots of pork and add egg cost me Rm30. Per bowl is Rm6 which I rather pay than patronizing Ooi Noodle House in Sunway and SS15. They don't give that much and they collect money from us more.

4 days in Ipoh, no frills, the usual lunch kind food around is still very much CHEAPER than KL. Rm3 something can still find lots of common lunch to choose.
No wonder my friend says people with 1K salary can still enjoy decently...KL PJ kenot aledy leh!

Going healthy eating those organic vegetarian food isn't cheap at all. Had lunch at this place which is consider new to me - Organic Recipe located in Casa Utama. Total about 8 pax went there. Dishes in portion isn't that big. We ordered:

    1. Deep fried mushroom
    2. Bittergourd with mushroom
    3. Stir-fried paku-pakis
    4. Tofu w/ sauce
    5. Long bean w/ mushroom & wolfberry
    6. Stir-fried mix vege
    7. Fruit tea for 8 pax - they provide shot glasses & the so called "tea pot" is relatively not very big

Total cost: RM 124.40. Parking charge Rm5 per car but they will rebate back from the bill. We had 2 cars entered.

Verdict is this place is nice & cosy and the food is actually better than BMS Organic! I actually won't spend that kind of money here unless I am the minority in the group.

Last Sunday went to Taman Petaling, Khuntai Authentic Restaurant .. that place really has expanded and really packed! We thought that we will need to wait for some time before the food can arrive but to our surprise they serve really fast.

    We ordered:

    1. Spicy seafood tom yum soup
    2. Tempura prawns
    3. Lemon & garlic steam La La
    4. Seafood mix otak-otak
    5. Fried belacan kangkong
    6. Spicy mango kerabu
    7. Mince chicken with basil
    8. Coconut water for 5 pax

Overall the food taste good and serving is really fast, so even if you're hungry can still go there cos really don't have to wait that long.

    Total damage is Rm 123

    Restaurant Pi Wui

Last 2 days, found this new place in SS19 called Pi Wui Restaurant, it just locate 2 lots away from Parkway coffee shop. Fed up of eating at regular place so decide to give this a try. The moment I went in, they gave me the menu to look at ~ saw the pics in the book that they recommend those dishes, it is not a fully cooked dishes instead they just display those ingredients on a plate. Look a lil not so appetizing but ordered a few dishes and tried and turn out quite ok but nothing special with their menu.

    Ordered:

    1. Thai style fried talapia ~ not spicy but sweet instead but its' tasty
    2. Stir-fried baby kailan
    3. Fried lotus root with petai and mince pork ~ something I've never tried before but it came out good

Overall damage for this is Rm39.70 ~ a bit on the high side for 3 dishes. This is only for 2 pax.

There is this new stall in Court 2, Coffee shop Wai Kwan selling pau for a week. There response from people there has been fantastic. Really stand in a long Q to order their pau cause it's made fresh on the spot. They have few variety of pau that they sell and its' really not that cheap compare to other places. Yesterday didn't manage to try cos its' really pack and sold out!

Today went there again and manage to only buy 1 char siew pau to try. Indeed it is very nice. Wanted to buy more again but sold out! If really want then have to wait again for half hour to 1 hour for the new ones to be ready. Now the business in that coffee shop is so good, you hardly get a place to sit too.

Yesterday while driving on the way to Kuala Selangor, we took a detour and went all the way to Jeram first, Kedai Kopi Shin Lok!
In a small town like that, if my friend never took a round trip to that place, I would have not thought there is anything nice to eat there but to my surprise that place is quite pack and their specialty is yam puff (Wu Kok). Freshly made came out from the oven to serve. Indeed it is even better than other place that I've eaten.

They also have freshly made 'pau' but its' vegetarian pau and other pau like peanut & red bean etc. The paus only serve during tea time at 3pm onwards but due to our schedule to go Kuala Selangor, we did not stayed on to wait for it.

If only I can remember how to go there again, I would definitely be going there again in another 2 weeks time just to get the yam puff.

Thumbs up Seafood Restuarant Hai Ung, Kuala Selangor

It has been quite sometime since I last went to Kuala Selangor for seafood. Yes this time definitely felt that the price has increased a bit but still cheaper than having seafood back in KL / PJ. This time there are about 9 of us exploring some new dishes there:

    Ordered:

    1. Sichuan Style Shark Fish (This is their specialty and it taste really good)
    2. Fried Glass Noodle w/ La La
    3. Spinach Soup
    4. Steam Crab
    5. Hot & Spicy Crab
    6. Toast Bun
    7. Kam Heong Mantis Prawn
    8. Mun Yee Mee
    9. Deep Fried Squid
    10. Fried Oyster
    11. Steam La La (Big) w/ Spicy Soup

They also start to serve Todi drink there, so tried 1 bottle & it goes well with 1 small Guiness. Total damage is Rm309
Compare to the last round I went, the price has increased a bit but still worth going back there again.

    Restaurant Pandan Lake Seafood Village

If it wasn't cos of my friend having his wedding dinner place there, I wouldn't have even know this place has got good food. It was a wedding dinner so don't expect the service there to be fantastic but the food served wasn't too bad. From the outside of the restaurant, you won't even know that is actually a restaurant but this is attached next to Pandan Lake Club. In GPS, its' rather difficult to locate it too.

Anyway, this restaurant supposed to be famous for their fishes caught by James Wong which has his pictures placed all around and some of HK celebrities too. Chinese wedding dinner dishes would rather be those normal dish that we always have so the next round I'll go back there again to try other ala-carte dishes then I can commend in here.

Had Kon Lon mee in Miri. Only RM2.50 per plate. Huge portion of noodles, but only 5 thin slices of char siew and some minced meat. Other non-local dishes are expensive, reaching RM7 per bowl easily.

But was it delicious? Can it match up to the best you've tasted in KL? One thing I cannot complain about is the price. RM2.50 is super cheap!
