Sorry guys, my wife just gave birth over the weekend and I was quite tied up with helping out hence my fingers not able to get to the keyboard and type out in here. Anyway, I didn't really see when is the opening date in Subang Parade but then every weekend if I happen to be there, I will walk pass to see if its' already open.

Am guessing it would open by middle of this month reno + hiring & training of new staff before operation.

I would say this place Yit Mun is good but the price of the fish is quite costly only. Overall, I would still go back there again cos is worth it and variety of food also not bad.

Had Hokkaido Ichiban Sushi which I think is a newly open branch in 1U at LG floor same row as KFC & Pizza Hut, right at the corner. That place is full and food is much better than Sakae & Sushi King. There is another Japanese restaurant just next to it too also quite pack.

3 pax and cost about Rm 176. Portions are good which you can order and share around. Worth my money going there again.

Had lunch yesterday at Jaya 33, Oriental Pavillion. Service is good even with the amount of people having lunch there. Really don't have to move much other than taking your food for yourself. Auto replace your plates & refill your tea when its' empty. Really don't have time to wait and show some dissatisfaction face to them.

    Ordered:

    1. Dim Sum
    2. Noodles
    3. Grilled Squid w/ Wasabi Sauce (this is very nice)
    4. Siew Yoke (not bad)

    For 5 pax is filling.

Last Saturday had lunch in KLCC Spring Garden due to other resty around having long Q. Since Spring Garden is hardly occupied and they are ready to serve us so decided to give it a try there. This is actually one of Tai Thong Group outlet and it is halal.

Went in saw the price on the menu is quite steep. So decided to take on very few dishes.

    Ordered:

    1. Fried rice
    2. Signature noodle - egg noodles + mushroom + taugeh + dry scallop
    3. Another signature noodle - tastier and looks something like s'gpore fried bee hoon but different.
    4. Porridge with dry scallop - Nice!!!
    5. Deep fried silver fish
    6. Deep fried mushroom
    7. Fried lotus root with mix vege & gingko

Overall the food is nice, service is there for what they have charged us. Worth going there for once in a blue moon. Only having chinese tea and light meal there is perfect. Dishes ordered above is too much for 4 pax. Can reduce 1 noodle plate less.

    Damage is only RM 201++

nice ambience, pricey though for RM60++ per pax.

    Merry Xmas.

Had Christmas day Japanese buffet lunch with family at Genji PJ Hilton.
Its just OK, nothing to complain, just enjoyed it as is. If I were to compare with Shogun, I think the latter had more items and slightly cheaper.
    Good and enjoyable lunch anyhow.

Shogun at Sunway or other few branches around Klang Valley, same.
Its not entirely pure Japanese theme but fusion with western menu items too.
Genji wasn't fully Japanese either, maybe because of Xmas, there was roast turkey and some other things. Xmas Carollers were there too, all in the Xmas spirit.
Yes, Its ok for the money if you want wider choice of all sorts, not just Japanese menu.
Google some food blogs on Shogun, surely see some pics and form your own conclusion.
I've no real complaints at Shogun, my last birthday dinner was at Sunway. Since I just had Genji, have to think of somewhere else lah this coming January birthday. BTW, last BD dinner there, if book early, ONE free buffet for genuine birthday day. Check with them b4 going, and I think its mostly packed and ring for reservation b4 hand.
Hmmmm...whats the next venue lah!..Japanese fusion again? hmmmmmmmmm.

Shogun is an offshoot of the original Saisaki at Wisma UOA, KL. Owned by Korean...

    BSLee,

If you want to stick to Japanese - try Jyuraku - next door to Rakuzen (SS15) and 10% cheaper - and taste better !! - Patrick and I are on "opposite" ends on the same road on this ... - Hyotan is just as good foodwise but not so children friendly the layout - decor is a bit dark for kids ...

If Italian - I do recommend Italiannes (Sunway Pyramid or boom-boom Empire Gallery) - really MUST TRY THE TIRAMISU DESSERT ... you don't take this, better don't bother to go - not cheap the tiramisu (RM17), but after one bite, walau !! worth every single red cent ... BEST Tiramisu I have tasted since my last Italian girlfirned made it for me ..... many many moons ago when I was young, wild and single .... with REALLY GENEROUS WITH THE AMARETO LIQUIOR.

Was there a few times for business lunch…

Chose it because parking was always available due to its location far away from Rakuzen and other Japanese restaurants.

Food is ok.. It is unfair to say the food is not good, but it is an over-statement to say it is good !!

Ambience is DEFINATELY not good… Never an idea place for Japanese dinner..

If I'm not mistaken, how can you say Jyuraku or Rakuzen a'la carte is cheaper than a full blown buffet for RM60 to 85++?
I've eaten at those 2 places before. Good but quite pricy. A personal meal there to roughly fill up would roughly be somewhat Rm25 to RM40 per head.

The best Italian restaurant in the vicinity of Subang Jaya is Avanti in Sunway Resort Hotel…

However, not too authentic as Italian, more Italian American..

I like the ambience slightly more than the food..
