It got the thumbs up from a v. fussy mummy. For me, I vouch only for the loh mai kai tho Sat's loh mai kai had better rice texture than Sun's - either no QC or marginal utility decreased!!

I think Summit's Loong Wang's charges are relatively cheaper (i like the dim sum there too) considering the ambience and all.

I just had lunch at Zhui Miao in Jalan Peel. The old atap restaurant. Opposite still haven't open so result to going back to the original place.

They already start to serve yee sang.

    Ordered:

    1. Yee Sang
    2. TeoChew Steam Fish
    3. Guiness 'Pai Kuat'
    4. Choy Sum w/ Garlic
    5. 4 Heavenly Bean
    6. Fried 'San Cheong'

For 2 tables = 14 pax. Damage came up to Rm 300++

For me , at such place this is considered averagely pricey. But food still good there.

CNY is around the corner and its' getting very very near. Somehow don't really have the uhmmm .. like we used to when coming towards CNY the feeling to celebrate.

I just came back from co. lunch 'Sau Gong' gathering. We had it in Ara D'msara the ever talked about Lala Chong Restaurant. 2 tables and we ordered:

    1. Yee Sang
    2. Shark Fin Soup (portion so bloody small like for 5 pax only)
    3. Huge plate of Fried Rice
    4. The Famous Lala Soup
    5. Vege (some kind of paku pakis)
    6. Black Pepper Venison
    7. Sotong (to dip wif rojak & chilli sauce)
    8. Salted Crab

Overall, the place is a nice environment for food but not the food itself. Quality of food is not there, portion is not there, and not to mention the service too. Won't know how much is the damage but is not cheap, guaranteed!

For me personally, I won't recommend people to go there for food but this place is HALAL too. So if we have Muslim friends then probably this is one of the few available places that I know.

On 4th day of CNY, a friend took me into Alor Setar town which I have no idea of directions from there at all & had this hearty meal of the most famous Curry Fish Head from there.

    For 2 pax, we ordered:

    1. Curry fish head
    2. A small plate of curry chicken
    3. 2 big prawns
    4. A small plate of kuah curry
    5. 2 bottle of mineral water

Cost us only Rm43. I would say its' rather costly but the place in terms of the ambience is nice & cozy. Its' Halal.

The best part is , they operate only during lunch for 2 hours only. Starts from 12pm - 2pm. I reached there by 1pm ++ almost everything sold out.

I heard their sotong curry is good. Will go back there again and try.

Kokomo / Currymee, is this the one in Alor Setar where they are known for their mutton curry too? I used to eat in a bungalow in A Setar where they served this wonderful mutton curry but can't seem to remember where, all I recall was we could see Sime Tyres factory from the outside of the restaurant.

Looks like you are in the Mergong Industrial Area - further down Jalan Putera - the restoran 88 is near the old REX cinema area ....
