Been to few different locations of Grand Imperial - BSC , Plaza Damas & Armada area. I would say their standards of serving and food all these 3 branch all not the same. Dishes also different. I think the one that I've tried best is Armada there as compared to BSC & Plaza Damas in Sri Hartamas.

Most of it are wedding dinner for this year otherwise I also won't go there purposely just to taste their food.

This whole year will be full of wedding invitation. Plenty of other places to try!

Grand Imperial is the same chain for BSC and Plaza Damas. Also they are related but not exactly the same management as the one in Digital Mall USJ.

However one near Armada does not belong to this chain - it belongs to Tai Thong group. This one is called Imperial Garden.

Last 2 weekend went to Baci @ Citta Mall to have some drinks with a group of friends. Must say that place there is very new and nice environment but the service from the staff really slack. Anyway, there are still many other shops for me to try.

Sunday lunch was Banana leaf rice @ Ganapathy Mess PJ old town. Most times food is superb & at times they don't have enough vegetables to serve. Last sunday, the ladies finger served to us was over ripe & cant be eaten. When we told the waiter he told us to keep it aside ( not in a rude way). Then when paid the cashier & told her the same, she did not say anything but instead kept the change on the table while I held my hand for the change! Keeping in mind that I mentioned it twice & didn't make a scene of it, my family left. Their food is tasty especially the crab rasam but the service left a sour taste. I wont say I will not go there again but not in the near future.

Dinner was @ Yip's Kitchen Sunway Pyramid. The food was so tasty & was recommended to try their dry noodles instead of soup. Indeed it was excellent. Yummy

Had a wonderful lunch yesterday in Tapah, as you enter the toll and turn on your right after the traffic light. You can see Restaurant Jin Chen on the right side of the row of shop lot right at the corner. For many years I pass by there but never realised that place has got good food.

    Anyway, we had:

    1. Nyonya fish (tilapia)
    2. Salted egg mantis prawn (it also deep fried with butter too)
    3. Paku pakis belacan (this is a must try there - very good!)
    4. Fried long bean
    5. Marmite chicken with sesame seed
    6. House specialty tofu (something different too - very good!)

Total 8 pax there and the portion also reasonably generous.

Kokomo...yeah, how much was that meal? You left out a most important detail! Haha...no matter how good the food is, if it cost a bomb, many will stay away. Seeing as that the restaurant is in Tapah, my guess is nothing more than urmm...RM100?

LoL ... sorry Jan & Quietstorm ... I also don't know of the price cos it was paid by my relative there and didn't reveal.

My guess is not more than Rm100 based on the dishes that we've ordered. Some more its' in Tapah a small town area, so how expensive can it be. Most people that goes there are those from around and not those bypass visitors. I happen to know also thanks to my relative that took us there for lunch.

Now I know, if I travel late I don't have to rush all the way to Bkt Tambun to have my great meal. I can just stop by Tapah and satisfy myself before I con't. my journey.

    Wink Ikuzo ramen

    [
had brunch at Ikuzo in ss2 pj....noodle is nice and soup
is low in msg...slightly diluted..ordered 2 chasu ramens and
curry ramen plus 2 soya drinks + 2 warm waters. Damage for 4 pax of total rm 34 and
no tax at all. well good experience of budgetary nippon ramen
experience + price wise compares to santouka, yamagoya or those in sinkapour..which burns
a hole into budget . Oh ya the deco is revolutionary though and eye catching too,
kind of pre cuban revolutionary .

Had late dinner last Friday as I was rushing to reach Bkt Tambun for seafood. Reached around 10pm and it's still open and are still quite a number of cars around there. Quickly went to Mantis Village Restaurant and made our orders.

    1. Salted egg mantis prawn
    2. Nyonya style steam fish (Red Snapper)
    3. Steam lala soup with wine & garlic
    4. Stir-fried kailan
    5. A pot of chinese tea

Total damage is RM55!! Really worth the driving thru long journey and rush there for my dinner.
