You need to stir the food few times while heating it up. And if heating up rice or bread ect, I normally place a damp paper towel over it to prevent food from drying up.

Most of the time, I can get it clean and shiny on the first round. Sometimes not much effort needed..just a good wipe with damp paper towels and at times more scrubbing effort with a good quality...
