Re: Nissan TIIDA
Satish, I used to own a car during the good old days called Datsun but today known as Nissan. The model I drove became the butt of all jokes especially in Penang. My friend would asked very loudly "hey Yeoh, did you drive your Lam Chiao car today?" or "Is your Lam Chiao car parked outside?" And I think the little bird which Satish is talking about is not doing any justice to my car called Bluebird. It is not small for your information. It has served me very well. I used to drive home to Penang twice a month for nearly a year and it was solid. If what you say is true Satish that the OTR is around RM 52K, I better call my remisier to dump all my Proton and EON shares tomorrow.

Re: Nissan TIIDA
Thank you so much Satish :) Will look into it. Avanza is not what I want. I am considering Kenari hope I have more choice :D
"kam sia" Satish. You know when Tony asked me to get Kembara, I told him, Uncle Satish so tall and big size only drive Kembara, me so small size....cannot and dare not...hehehehhe. No offence |

Nissan introduces Tiida in Japan in Sep04
Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. has announced the domestic launch of the all-new Tiida hatchback. The Tiida is the first model to be fitted with Nissan's next-generation CARWINGS navigation system, which Nissan says offers fastest-route search capability. This function uses past statistical traffic data and real-time VICS (Vehicle Information and Communication System) data obtained via Nissan's CARWINGS telematics service to find the fastest route to a driver's destination. The Tiida is being billed as being an extremely spacious car. Nissan says that the model has an interior length, measured from the accelerator to the rear seat hip point, which is on par with the Cima luxury sedan. The Tiida is fitted with the newly developed all-aluminium 1.5-litre HR engine. Nissan says that a newly developed 1.8-litre inline four-cylinder engine will be released in early 2005. The 15M and 15G models are fitted with Nissan's XTRONIC Continuously Variable Transmission. Nissan is hoping to sell around 60,000 pa in Japan. Another website said this is a replacement for the sentra models |
Re: Nissan TIIDA
from http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=100761
The Tiida is engineered for global sales and could be ready for the United States in about a year. It was promoted as an alternative to the Cube in part because of its larger engine. A 1.5-liter inline four-cylinder engine will power the Japan model, on sale this month. A larger, 1.8-liter inline-four engine is expected to be optional. The Tiida's interior length, measured from the accelerator to the rear-seat hip point, is as long as that in the Infiniti Q45 sedan. But some at Nissan worry about whether the Tiida would sell well in the United States, where hatchbacks often have foundered. They favor the more conservatively styled Tiida Latio (pronounced TEE-dah LAH-chee-oh). The Tiida Latio will offer the same spacious interior and engine choices as its hatchback sibling. It goes on sale in Japan in late October. Its detractors compare the car's bland styling to the weak-selling Toyota Echo. They argue that a good-looking hatchback such as the Tiida is a safer bet. |
