I used to make waxed duck porridge. After rinsing off some of the saltines, its heavenly especially when the meat falls out and there is some fat from the thigh. Bad for health but once or twice a year ok la.
The best i love wax duck is to steam with "sheen" ( spring garlic )with the skin on top of the "sheen'and the cutlet wax duck bottom.
I'm looking forward for Yee Sang!..really fun stuff to munch once every CNY..too much oso eeekkk :heheheh:!
I like Yi Sang too. :)
I prefer sashimi!! More fish to eat and the taste more pure because I feel the fish taste drowned out by the condiments. For lou sang I always bring my family to japanese restaurant every year. Weird i know but it works for me,
Yee Sang is actually a true marketing succe$$. It is a rare piece of product ingenuity~ finding elcheapo ingredients, rojak 'em all together and then brand it as for "future business succe$$!" What a good con!
If liddat, all those who lou-sang dont need to work lah...just lou lou lou sang and $$$$ just drop from the sky! :heheheh: Better than being given car AP anytime!:heheheh:
Anyway, Growing up in a non-canto background/town, we Hokkien never knew what the fish is lou yee sang until all got dry-air fried by the Klang Valley canto people... Now, this lou sang is a succe$$ fr chinese restaurants all the way to HKong too!
So, those who wanna have more fish in their low-hey, can always go to say, Pok Bro and buy a slab of thinly sliced whole smoked salmon fish and then rojak this to the Carrefour (even the frenchie al$o ca$hing in thi$ money $pinning phenomenon!) Yeesang package and all succe$$ will come lah:heheheh:
Yang Boleh Loh hey ToonIstimewaUtamaXlatotupai:p
just like mooncakes..which for a long time now, I've banned myself to buying any..its blardi expensive..damn expensive delicacy now..for the same amount, I'm better off with value pastries from the bake shop!..at least I do feel its filling after a few.
One thing is quite certain - the restaurant owners are confirmed to prosper when customers turn up. As for the customers themselves, well, that's another story. :p
Same same with the rubbish food from big mac, kfsee , etc., etc. la.. ;)
A colour-bubble rubbish drinks ( 70% of the drinks is occupied by cheap air batu made from pipe water) also sold in exorbitant price relative to the cost…
Also, the rubbish breakfast/lunch/dinner set (seriously, this is indeed rubbish) from all this mnc fast-food chain is also sold at very very expensive price relative to the actual $$value of the rubbish food..
So, is the same same trick la.. Cantonese learn them from kui loh and tailor-it to suit local blur sotong... :p
Those shaved snow ice desserts are the biggest con jobs. Imagine making some horlicks(or whatever) , freeze it and shave it and put some jellies and voila its 7.80 for a small bowl. Not enough to quench thirst.
C'mon lah..chinese tea at any local kopitiam at 40-50sen is a A CON JOB!..still people order.. I shake head!
Teh tarik average 1.40 onwards mostly in Klang Valley nowadays...even at Majlis Perbandaran warong2 rented for pittance.. please assure me thats a BIG CON JOB too!.. YUP!..we're ALL conned one way or other...EVERYDAY!
