Going for a play at KLPAC this weekend. I have never been there. So at the same time can go food hunting too. Anyone knows of good food for dinner nearby KLPAC - i.e. at Sentul or Jalan Ipoh?

There is a Japanese restaurant on the grounds, but i don't know what are their opening hours. It overlooks the Koi ponds and looks very nice. Haven't tried the food there though, but each time i am around there... i see quite a lot of people. If you go early and makan there, do take some nice pics for the photography thread ok? :D
I love the koi ponds and behind the walls at the pond area, are the tanks holding various types of Koi. Amazing looking fish they hv there. The last time i was there, my friend and i sat down after a long ride out of town.. and relaxed.. taking in the scenery.
If u are looking for steamboat, there is a good one around there too, although they mention more about its yong tau foo than steamboat..
I've only eaten steamboat there at night.
Address:
Ipoh Road Yong Tow Foo
67, Jalan Segambut,
Kuala Lumpur

If you're going from Jln Duta towards Jln Ipoh, after the Duta roundabout, you wont miss it on the left.
If you want Tai-chow, then the 'park' behind the pondok polis, is where u want to go. The last stall away from the crowded area is where they hv really good Pandan chicken. It's run by a couple. So u basically sit in the park. Beware rats running about. hahahah... If you want a nice romantic place.. umm.. this aint the place for u. :D
My fave late night place is the dim-sum shop facing the mainroad, next to King's confectionery. The prices are skyrocketing tho. Looove their lo-mai-kai and char-siew-pau.
Lau Heong at Sentul perdana, try their chicken wing, curry fish head, sizzling sotong and prawn, steamed tilapia with herb. finger licking good.
want to be romantic at the same time feed the mosquitoes, for something different try that rainforest type of restaurant or to have your meal on a tree, they also have a branch at taipan same row as maybank ... suddenly forgot the name liao..
The romantic place, r u referring ti Naili's
Mr Foo. I believe you're referring to this shop which their 1st shop is at Jln 3/48 and their "higher class" outlet is at Sentul Raya.Quote:

Yes and No, BS. Yes, that's the one as per your address. Their tel is 03 40427857. But No, the "higher class" outlet at Sentul Raya is already closed!Quote:

Recently when I was there, the fish taste as though there was much chlorine. Later, when on the way back and after much speculation and discussion, we suspect the fish may have been tainted with some kind of chemical to keep it fresh. Otherwise, the food there is still quite good. The last dish I had there that was good was the "heh koe" (cray fish) friend in salted egg.
Just enjoyed the scenery? Sure or not? ;) :pQuote:

QS.. I'm very sure about just taking in the scenery. After all that riding at 180kmh on the highway at noon... you don't want to be smelling any biker. hahhah.. It was nice to sit and watch the fish swim... and all the grenery around... no one crazy enough to hang around out there at noon, ya know, except just a couple of already stinky sweaty bikers.
RolyPoly, do give us a report on your findings :)
Understandably so, LoL. I was just teasing you there. :D
You wouldn't think of teasing me when u realize how bad i can smell after a daytime ride. hahahah... beyond teasable! heeheeheheh.. :D
Now.. where is Roly Poly and his food report?
Don't tempt me, please LoL..if you noticed, I've just shaken off that banana! Don't want another one, you know, in the foreseeable future! :pQuote:

Sorry for my tardiness in giving all of you a report of my last weekend outing for food hunt in the Sentul/Jalan Ipoh area.
We ended up at Jalan Segambut for Claypot Chicken Rice and Soup. I think it's near to the Yong Toufu shop that you recommend. The claypot chicken rice is cooked with charcoal fire. The soup came with many options. We had watercress soup (sai yong choi tong) and old cucumber (lou wong kua) soup. Very good. A friend recommended this place. Worth a try. There are so many variety of soups to choose from.
The place is called Restoran Makan Kim Poh, No 7 Jalan Persiaran, Segambut Utara. Tel: 6258 3167. I have posted photos at Random Shot and link the map and namecard to this post. So anyone keen can check it out.
I couldn't find the Japanese restaurant at KLPAC. Gosh, the whole place is so eerie. It's so dark. It took me quite awhile to figure out where the koi pond was. The Sentul Park was very dark when we got there. With the old, abandoned and skeletal structure of old building, and dim lighting leading to KLPAC, fyi, I had a terrifying time driving through the park. Fortunately I had companions, otherwise, I would break into cold sweat driving through the dark lane that lead to KLPAC. Have anyone experience this before?
Hi RolyPoly.. Thanks for the report :) No need to apologize ... just that some of us (ie: me) kinda looking forward to your findings.
Sounds like it was a yummy dinner. A couple of days ago my son saw some little claypots being sold at a chinese supermarket and mentioned he misses claypot chicken rice. Yumm..
Looking forward to the location info and pics :) Tks!! Maybe i can get Kokomo to take me there. :D
Oh.. yeah.. at night, the area around KLPAC can get a bit eerie. The Japanese restaurant is at the other end of the car park, There is a japanese style gateway that goes winding got a bit and u enter the koi ponds. Best to go during the day and take pics.
First time at PAC obviously. If you have been there often like us, it's kinda peaceful and away from it all!Quote:

Passed by some concrete seats under trees....and my first thought was...are there any unseen beings enjoying a good chat on those seats? Still find it eeeerrriiiieeeeee.........Quote:
