YEAY! I did it!
Completed my e-filing in less time than it took to read new postings in usj.com. ;)
About 30 minutes was all it took. (with some struggling about reading last year's info leaflet on what some item details meant in English. The form in BM is the killer for me, hehehehe) :D
Clicked "Tangatangan and Hantar"
then..... Nothing happens!
Duh! :(
So what now?
Will I get an acknowledgement via email or what?
Kept checking my email, didn't find anything, yet!
How do I confirm if my form has reach LHDN safe and sound?????
Tried a few times, got the message "... permohonan anda tidak berjaya" Sila hubungi DigiCert... ? Anyone encounter this?
I've already submitted using the Borang B via eFiling. So how? Do I have to submit again using Borang BE?Quote:

Btw, there's no fee involved in getting a digital cert from IRB.Quote:

You can always submit later if the network or server's busy.
Upon successful TANDATANGAN DAN HANTAR, you'd be directed to a webpage with your details and an LHDN stamp.
Oh, and one more thingy. You gotta do all this using Internet Explorer.
Mozilla, Firefox, etc are not welcomed.
hmm, thanks jand, I never get to that confirmation screen when I click 'hantar'. I tried at least 4-5 times though. Could something be wrong with my e-cert or IE or some settings in personal firewall that blocks the sending? Could it be the e-hasil server is too busy?
Now that I missed the hardcopy deadline, I gotta make sure my e-filing is completed before 31-May. This kind of technology boo-boo sucks big time! mad:
hard to tell without seeing the exact error on your screen.
perhaps to start off, can you verify that the cert's installed?
Start up IE, in the menu option: Tools > Internet Options :: Content :: Certificates :: Personal
You should see your name there with the cert issued by Digisign ID (Basic)
Income tax filers complaint that the IRB will not stamp "Acknowledge Receipt" on tax submission forms. :(
IRB say they are shorthanded  - I say its a lazy "little napoleon" excuse.
A 3-step guide to IRB  :-
Step 1 - pick-up rubber stamp
Step 2 - punch rubber stamp on stamp pad
Step 3 - punch (chop) rubber stamp on income tax form
How shorthanded can it be?
My way to mitigate this. I submit cheque with my income tax form. So, if the cheque CLEARED, I know they had received my form. If they claimed otherwise, but my cheque is cleared anyway, I'll have a case against IRB although the IRB CEO arrogantly said "if any case goes to court, there should be only one outcome : the IRB wins" - SundayStar 30/4/06. :p
But I wonder why there was no mention of IRB late in refund in that interview. :(
But TheStar 1/5/06 reported IRB won't send out tax forms from next year...hmm, I'll have to think of other ways to protect my interest.
note : one glitch about the online form is it need Adobe Reader 7.0.7 to run. Doubt everyone would have such a high version.
The LHDN (IRB) website provides links for you to download the reader - hence no excuse really.
I wonder how they will tackle the submissions with rebates for taxes taken from dividend payouts. I understand that such claims need to send in the original dividend slips .. a process not possible with the online system.
Furthermore, not every tax-payer has online access to the internet.
Very true KWChang,
Any dividend refund, IRB requires the original copy of the dividend form.
How they go about it is rather an issue via an e-submission.
Although the link to download the latest version of Adobe is in the IRB's website, but its not really an easy task to do it. Its a 20MB file...well, since its not something that can not be done...not really an issue after all.
At the moment, the installation is actually done online. There is (as far as I know) no complete download of the reader for offline installation.
Figure this out - a large number of people deciding to do the online submission find out to their dismay that they need a good internet connection to install the adobe reader. With a tmnet dialup account, they may never get it done at all! Big disaster in the making.... watch the complaints come in later in the month.
Yes, you are right, thats why I also a bit careful not to promote too much the e-filing to my office colleagues for their supposedly convenience. :(
Dialup connection - may not be so effective to download a 20MB file
Broadband connection - not everyone have it at their convenient (it took me a while to download the Installer)
Office download - may be restricted by firewall
Starbucks connection - need the hassle just to download a file meh?
I had to bear the agony of seeing my colleagues using the manual tax form and I only CC the e-version to those equiped with latest versions of Adobe.
Don't want to disappoint the old-school (got the e-version, but can't open it)...alamak...
i have submitted the e-filing for my tax return successfully, with some difficulty. it is certainly not the friendliest software to use, but it is better than the manual way to some extent.
however, I have a problem when submitting the e-filing for my missus though. i cannot daftar her e-filling online after obtaining the digicert key from the tax dept. when i try to daftar online, the form does not allow me to enter the additional digit (1) after my tax number, and when i try to submit anyway, it tells me that i have an invalid tax number. both our tax numbers are the same, except that her have the number (1) appended to it. we have elected to submit separate returns.
have emailed the problem to LDHN with the std auto reply. may be a month before someone from LDHN replies, if at all.
anyone of you have this problem too?
jand, is ur income tax file SG or OG? You should have filled up BE if urs is SG file and vice versa. No idea on ur case whether to re-submit new form but I would advise not to.Quote:

Hi folks, in Borang BE 2005, column D3,
Peralatan Pembelian alat sokongan asas untuk kegunaan sendiri, suami / isteri, anak atau ibu bapa yang hilang upaya asas dihadkan kepada RM5,000.
Do you know what are the "alat sokongan asas"? Wheelchair?
Is the blood pressure measurement device considered as " alat sokongan asas"?
