Do you think the new rapidKL bus service will make a difference in SJ and USJ?
Questions
My main questions about the new service are:
1) This is a huge and complicated system requiring transfers from bus to bus, and ending up with higher fares.
Are KL bus passengers willing to give up their "1 seat for 1 fare" and switch from bus to bus, if there is better, more reliable service?
2) After the service is implemented, no rapidKL buses except the City Shuttles, will enter the KL City Centre. However, Metrobuses and other companies will still do so.
Would you rather stick with Metrobus, SJ bus, etc. for the "1 seat for 1 fare" or would you be willing to give the new rapidKL service a try?
3) Subang Jaya already has shuttle bus services, and many bus routes. So far it hasnt made enough of a difference.
Do you think the new rapidKL bus service will make a difference in SJ and USJ?

RapidKL website updated for new bus service in Region 2
RapidKL has updated their website to show information about the new bus routes in Region 2, which is the north KL area.
gives the new routes and the route maps for these new routes, as well as the old routes that are now out of service.
This route map shows you an example of the new routes and the old route that is being replaced.
However, you wouldn't be able to find the information if you were not carefully looking for it. See the main page to understand what I mean.
Oh, and the old information and old route maps for the "region 2" (north kl) are still posted on the website too...for example, this poorly labeled route map of the rapidKL stage buses or this route map of the feeder buses which doesnt actually mention that these are feeder buses.
Nice job, rapidKL. You get an E for effort. Nowhere to go but up. :D

New rapidKL Area 3 service (Ampang Area)
Rapid KL has introduced the new restructured service into Area 3, since Sunday April 30.
This area covers Pandan, Hulu Kelang, Ampang, Wangsa Maju, Keramat and Setapak, basically the northeast of KL.
Not surprisingly, there is no news coverage and no announcement on rapidKL's website. If I can get the brochure I will scan it and see if I can post it on this page.
This article in the Star describes a complaint by the MPAJ, asking rapidKL to delay the system to give them time to study it.
I wonder who is acting poorly here...rapidKL for giving no information, or the MPAJ for not getting the info.
This info will be important for MPSJ area residents. Methinks MPSJ area will be the next to receive service, unless Cheras is more important :p
