I understand that MPSJ will require that your dog will need to get of certificate of training, from an appointed third party, before they issue a dog licence. also the dog needs to be micro chipped.

Anyone knows anything about this.

yup...

called them the other day, this year... i.e. 2 months left, we still can register any breed! At the moment, they having some kinda discussion...
Which we dunno who's in charged or etc...

but was told that by 1st Jan 2006, they might adopt MPSA ruling... which include DBKL too as understood by some pet shop from KL district....
Which requires us to take the stupid CGC course (Canine Good Citizen) by MKA.... guess what.... only MKA course are recognized!
And at a certain COST.... which again goes to them....
Even some breeder.... dun really wanna reg. their pups...
reason... as mention abv.
Everythg money...
CATS... FREE...!!! Unlimited nos and anywhr... including a bunch full in appt. being approved...
Coz cat's dont BITE... but they do scratch!!! Yiacks!

..:: Disappointed ::..

hehe... if goin all those training can get licence for my doggie staying in apartment... i really don mind :D
but so much trouble for landed property, guess something is not right huh  there they (mka n spca) r trying to help dogs but looks like more lovely doggies will b goin spca n heaven instead if this is even gonna be implemented. :(
really makes me wonder y r we paying annual fees to mka when they r not even trying to help us dog owners.
maybe its time for us to all unite and sign a protest/petition, just like those ppls did to start this nonsense... ;)

btw, i applied mine at mppj since last two years. recently i heard that next year we need to take photograph of our surronding area with a doggie cage (that the dog sleep in) to apply licence... wonder how la my dog got no cage? she sleeps on my bed, take va pic of my bed ke ? :D

i called MPSJ last month. haven't implemented any new rules yet. so i'm just waiting to renew my furkids' lesen ASAP. mebbe, can be 'silly rules'-free for another year....

plus, i checked the GCC course at puppy.com site. the points in that course, all also my dogs know alredi.... so if it's implemented, wasting money to go for the test, because the dogs are tested in a group - so cannot control if they get distracted. these are pets, not police/service dogs. they tend to be playful.... all in all, i think it's just NOT FAIR.

oh ya, anyone knows if we can renew lesen at MPSJ now itself, in October????

I just read about the CGC(Canine Good Citizen) Training in yesterday's paper (Star Metro). Well, I have to say that I don't really agree with the Municipal Council implementing this move.

I mean, the fee for one dog to attend training is RM 100. What if I have 2 or 3 dogs? How will this affect other owners who have financial problems?

By the way, can someone enlighten me on this fact?

Recently, I've been hearing rumours that I need my neighbour's signed consent before renewing my dog's license. If this is true, then I'm faced with a big problem.

A couple of months ago, my neighbour and I had a huge row over my dogs, during which he threw stones at my dogs right in front of my mom's face. It has been a couple of months since that outburst, and I still find stones appearing out of nowhere in my compound. It disgusts me to know that there are still other adults out there who can be so selfish. I mean, animals have rights too, you know?

My other neighbour (whom I've maintained good relationship with) is moving out. So if I really have to get my neighbour's signed consent, how am I supposed to do it? Anyone got any suggestions?

Why is your neighbour throwing stones at your dogs?

His excuse was "I don't like dogs". And while the other neighbour actually appreciates them being around to guard the houses, this neighbour can seem to tolerate the mere presence of my dogs.
