Restaurant = No!, Stall = Yes!.. Best bet from my experience I can suggest is at Kg Datuk Harun, off Old Klang Road.
They're located in a food court building just next to a big new mosque,(anyone can't miss it, just 1/2km before the Toll near the end of Old Klang Road or after the 1st toll if coming from SJ.)
1st floor in building situated right in the middle. For the Ramadan month, they selling right infront of the food court during evenings!. Try the beef rendang, ikan bakar and sup ekor!..the price is very very reasonable too!..unlike SJ/USJ prices!..exhorbitant!.

The authentic ones have vanished, now what we get are the celop ones. The best used to be around Jalan TAR, if you like to venture to that part there is a still one stall, family owned in a Kopitiam shop opposite Sogo, my favourite is the beef rendang and the brinjal sambal.

That one I know!..Capitol Cafe Jln TAR if anyone wants to go that far from SJ/USJ and expensive parking in that area. They once was a food vendor at TV3 station some years ago for a short period. Yes, I agree its good N.Padang!, but the boss once told me that he doesn't really call his food N.Padang..just plain ole local Malay food dishes..nothing spectacular!.

That vendor is still there, same place, same people. Coincidently, best pasembor/rojak at that shop but NOT anymore. The original Malayalee vendor gave it up some years ago to another, so goes the taste as well. :D

i dunno if it's the same one, but when i was very very young we used to visit my late grandfather's shoplot at batu road (jalan TAR) in the weekends and mom and her siblings will gather for a few rounds of mah jong. at lunch time, one of the siblings will always go to this shop and ta pau some rice. i dunno what that kind of rice is called, but it's named 'malay rice' by my uncles and aunts.

the vendor had the rice in a huge wooden container and my favourite was the beef. it was rendang like and i can still remember the texture and taste. it's so tender and just right. it's one of my favourite childhood memories :) :) :)

Even the the quality might have dipped but its stil worth the try, i find it sinfully tasty, be aware its in town so expect to pay more. No need to take car take to kommuter and stop at Bank Negara and you have aload of shopping to do also. This my favourite stop if i want to indulge in something truely Malay, lots of suntan and rich.
